I should also add that it's absurdly early and there's no need to label any pick a bust (at any level) before they've played a full year at minimum.

Now, that said, there's a 99% chance this year's draft yields no help for what's already not a top-35 lineup in the league (I'd take a handful of teams' twos over the ones here).

At least we're used to this by now, so losing your first-round WR and second-round RB possibly for the year before they play a game (I'm hopeful for Brooks but remember when Foster's knee injury would have him out "a month or two" at first).

Brooks will be fine. He was injured in Oct or Nov of last year. Was fully known by the time we drafted

It was simply stupid to go with only Corbett at C.  I will never understand investing that much money in 2 Gs, and not even having a bare minimum starter at C.  They could have easily picked one in the draft.

Yep. If Corbett goes down again or simply isn’t even average at C then the entire thing goes to sh!t.

They’ve invested a crap load of money. A top 10 pick in Ickey. Crappy center play can easily blow the entire thing up

  • Asked about deep passing since that was a big part of his Bucs offense. Asked why it wasn't being displayed. Canales says that the scheme is fantastic and maximizes the disguise (re: Evero's). Makes it hard to see when that shot will be good. Deep ball production increases the further into camp that they get and more in games. In a practice setting the defense is playing more conservative while in games they're likely to take a risk that you can take a shot on. Would love to see more production yes, but it's difficult against the Panthers' defense.

Canales done. Waiting for the first of the two players for today to come up.

Is he basically saying our defense is so much better than our offense that we don't have the option of throwing deep?

Evero’s defense is designed to take away the deep pass. We are actually good at that last year. Also said they will work on more deep passes as they process further into camp.

Remember when you'd have a hint of optimism at this time of year when going into the new season? Been a while but I think I have a vague memory of it.

I try to be optimistic.  Teams rise from the ashes every year.  Houston, Tampa, and Arizona were seen as the worst teams last off-season and 2 had great years and even Arizona was coming on at the end of the year.

Can't read much on here if you want to be optimistic.  The loathing is insane.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
