Chasing backup caliber QB's would be a very Panthers thing to do.

He's no more an answer to our woes than Gardner Minshew is. An upgrade perhaps but being mired in the 5-8 win range isn't desirable either.

Keep in mind he was very quickly jettisoned by the Redskins for better options.

Curious as to who you feel is currently playing for the Commanders who is a “better option” than Howell and why.

Sam Howell turns the ball over too much for my liking, but I'd definitely be on board with this because the one thing Howell does is throw the ball down the field for better or for worse. I can't stand to watch another game of our QB only throwing 3-4 passes over 10 yards in the air.

Currently?

Jayden Daniels had a very successful debut.  I watched him and Cade, and Daniels looked better, albeit in extremely limited time.   He has looked better than Howell did, at least thru two games.

I mentioned Howell the other day in a post .  He has the size and arm needed for an NFL QB .  He is good with a run if needed .     He would be cheap and Canales could see if he can work with him .  Howell is young and at least could replace Dalton as our backup .

Wilson in Carolina?

The Nat'l media would eat us alive. The least respected vet QB goes to the least respected NFL franchise.

That's so crazy that it might work!

I think he's talking about Zack Wilson rather than Russell. Either way, no thanks

One game sample and he ran the ball A LOT.

The time to get Howell was when we were drafting Matt Corral.

yeah well then or in free agency.

the Panthers at this point just need to sign someone like B. Zappe off of the Chiefs practice squad as a plan B ..up

He was never a free agent, Seattle traded a late round pick in the offseason for him

yeah well let Seattle keep him then & they will

teams are just not going to trade their backup Qb's at this point in the season

maybe in Madden or if you offer a ridiculous amount

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
