Keeping it real about Bryce Young. Listen to those who actually watched film.

I've always loved Kurt Warners stuff.  Same with Chase Daniel when he's on the Athletic Football Show.

Kurt had a great spiel the other day about how it's funny how many people will rush out to give commentary as soon as a Monday/Tuesday.  When in reality, it genuinely takes time to go through the film and have thoughtful analysis.  The coaches of said players can take up to 2-3 days after a game to even digest it.  But oh, some kid with all-22 can figure it out within 8 hours of the game ending lol.

most of the media is just taking the safe route in completely placing the blame on Tepper. They are basically implying that Tepper is the reason why Bryce can't throw, can't read defenses, can't hit open receivers, can't call protections, can't throw the ball past 10 yards, gets sacked. I don't remember the last time Tepper was on the field on Sundays.

It's a breath of fresh air when people actually look at the film. Heck, just watching him play during the broadcast is enough to tell that the kid can't play.

I put this somewhere but this is probably a better place. I was going to suggest that maybe there could avideo thread... with the different takes that are going around.

I have really learned who the idiots and agenda driven people are on these sports networks. I haven't watched them for years and man, I hope it is years before i watch any more of these panel shows that don't use supporting evidence, they just spew ignorance. In this case.

This isn't that.

Richard Sherman had a fact based opinion too, maybe I'll go find it.

I just listened to this take and I've listened to a lot of other sports analysts talk about the Bryce situation. I think Breer had the most honest assessment of what was really going on behind the scenes. I think the biggest voice to bench Bryce is Canales, for sure he had to run it by Tepper. Agree that Canales has to worry about the whole team and not just Bryce when other veterans are getting frustrated, everyone is playing for their next meal, can't be held back by one guy. Also a legit question if Bryce will start again outside of an injury to Dalton.

Yeah I thought he was well reasoned and probably well informed to where most fans would appreciate seeing that. I did.

Dalton is likely going to look leagues better (see what I did there lol). Those media shills are going to have to rewrite their bull, to frame Tepper as, at best, the dumbass who didn't veto the Young pick.

I hate be this disagreeable but I don't see any sense in it, I see some kind of agenda.

They need a new Daniel Snyder to periodically kick around. (Tepper qualifies in his special way irrespective of what 'ruined' Young)

I'll be nice and say the only (another, rather) motive they have for gaslighting is that they are defending their very loud and long take on Bryce, which is pretty indefensible at this point so they deflect and project.

This is common across the media today by my observations.

Well they were wrong on that last part. He was most certainly a reason for the panthers struggles last year. He touched the ball every play.

The difference is you give the rookie a pass.

He’s no longer getting a pass after a full year and offseason.

Yep the film is wrong….

Lots of good nuggets in here.   One of the biggest was Dan was a bryce guy

And this is exactly why Morgan shoulda been packing Fitts bags along with his own. He didn't want to buck the big guy if he wanted a paycheck and went along with Young. I think they are so worried about appeasing Dipper they wont be honest with him.  Nobody involved with football in the last 30yrs thought he should be a number one pick, comon now.   Frank didn't want Bryce...why he was gone in 11 games cause he couldn't perform a miracle.  Morgans first draft was crap but we'll see.

    • I just rewatched all the highlights from after Bryce being benched. The Bryce hate needs to calm down a little bit. He showed a ton of potential the back half of the year. Same with Legette. They both made great plays when it mattered and a few mistakes when it counted. If we didn’t have a historically awful defense last year we could have ended even a bit better. Going into a brand new season we should be optimistic at least before game one. 2015 no one expected to go anywhere and the team steam rolled the league. I’m not saying that will happen, but hopefully we made strides to improve on the end of last year. Bryce put both Super Bowl teams in a battle last year and if we had a better D we could have taken them both. So at least look forward to the season and not past the season until it at least begins.
    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
