I came here to make this same post. I have two, a conservative prediction for if this performance was the result of a surge in morale and the team comes back down to earth a bit and an optimistic one for if this is who Andy Dalton and the Dalton led Panthers really are:

Bengals could be tough and a hard dose of reality, but if not, and we're 2-2, this could get interesting.

Broncos, Giants, Bears & Commies are all winnable.  We could grab a few more division games.  And then maybe an upset or two from the rest.

Best case, 8-9/9-8, I think likely 6-11/7-10, won't be super pissed with 5-12, but after today we should be able to win more than 3 out of this schedule.

I picked 6 with Bryce lol, you don't want to know. I don't want to know.

Teams are just now rounding into shape. A few years back this would have been game 2.

I don't know that the team knows how to not lose, to (not) snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, that usually comes after a season of being close (but mostly losing). Seems to me.

I expect the home field will be gooder than it has been, I think we'll beat some teams. I really hope to keep any losses close and know we had a chance.

I have looked at this week as the week to start grading stuff, and two years straight with Bryce at QB we didn't need to wait.

This poo with Dalton, he can throw the ball. If we protect him we'll win probably 7, maybe maybe 9 if we keep these players on the field.

Who knows....

If we get to 6-2 or 7-3 this place will go nuts with things like Super Bowl talk.

    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
    • I think it's because we've had a player to hate on NO (Breese) and Atl (Ryan) while Tampa had Winston who was never really a threat or dislikable like the other 2
    • yeah. it was also reported that Brown was taking it light today because of oblique soreness. Sounds like the 2 of them were a bit too rough with each other for practice.
