I'm not using the word elite for any college QB that hasn't played in the NFL yet that's just me.

I'm not eliminating any QB prospects this early. I like Ward's potential. That's it.

If we somehow get the first pick we have to heavily consider QB. Now if we get a legit haul level offer from a team looking to trade up then I would accept that. I'm fine drafting a QB later if need be depending on how the draft falls. But we absolutely need to add one in the first 3 rounds. This QB room has to be purged in the offseason.

Of course they need to evaluate it and they obviously will. I don’t make the decisions, I just have an opinion and I’m not sold on any of these QBs. Maybe that changes as we get further in the process. All I’m saying is if you don’t have conviction in a QB this team needs to go defense. If they don’t have conviction they can’t be drafting a QB just to do it.

IDC that much about the QB room in 2025. Start getting actual talent on the team in 2025. Once that happens, the QB will matter again.

I already touched on this earlier in the thread. I'll revisit it again.

It's easy to say this. But it has to be discussed the reality of this situation in terms of the locker room and the current team culture. Even if we get those "dawgs" in here that we seek on the defensive side of the ball we have to reward them and keep them buying in. We cannot and will not do that without better QB play. And it doesn't even have to be stellar QB play. Just anything that's more than a few measly yards and a cloud of dust.

It’s not that I forgot.  It’s just there are more factors at play.  Jeff was bad but I don’t know anyone that expected him to be great.

Oh we did. He was supposed to be our new starting QB. He was a level of shell shocked that made David Carr look calm and composed. It was wild.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
