I did respond but specifically, yeah Wilks would not have been much different than Reich regarding Bryce Young. I didn't mean to extend that to all rookie QBs though. Actual prototypes would likely not have met the same fate.

If it mattered I'd have relied on Wilks to talk some sense into Tepper regarding the NFL and what you need at QB. Failing that, no Wilks.

the organization is toast with Tepper. Tepper is a micromanager and is BAD at football. It’s the only reason the team is worse every year under his leadership. 2 wins last year. Appears to me this is a slow process beginning with Canales and Morgan trying to improve Tepper's decisions. Next has been Canales and Morgan convincing Tepper that certain players aren't good for winning (Bryce, Diontae, and Thomas). Finally, Canales has to prove he can replace them and improve the offense. He's already done that by elevating Dalton, XL, Coker, Moore and J.Sanders over Bryce, Diontae, TMJ, Mingo, Thomas and Tremble before the trade deadline.

I won't be shocked if Brooks moves over Hubbard and pushes M.Sanders out after a few weeks of play with the quick progress Canales has shown. Canales definitely has an ability to replace failing players with young developed players.

A Canales/Morgan offense free of Tepper will be a future QB, Brooks, XL, Thielen, Coker, Moore, J.Sanders and depth added in 2025.

Getting Tepper to give up his fantasy Steelers defensive project will be the more diffcult task for Morgan and Canales. Giving up 20+ points by half every game is unacceptable for even a bad defense.

We were all saying that one or two injuries to key guys on D would make us one of the worst in the league, then we had 17 fuging injuries. 

The D wasnt even good last season, I dont know why people were spouting that nonsense.

The last thing Tepper did was donate the stadium and everything else for a hurricane relief concert. But he’s the worst person in the world to most here. Sure he’s made a lot of dumb decisions but I’m I’m a firm believer that those deep pockets will come in handy when he lucks into the right QB/Coach/GM

Just to further your point. I think we played the Broncos as a test game. That was it, we wanted to see where certain players currently were in their development. Is there anything to be saved about Bryce Young? how does Coker and Leggett actually look on their own?

I expect us to see the same this week, with us maybe actually trying to win the Giants game in Germany. Trust me, we got that game circled on our calendar as a franchise.

After purchasing this team, Tepper had it in mind to make heavy use of analytics and attempt to modernize how this team is built based on installing a 3-4 defense like Pittsburgh (the team he had been a minority owner in before) and pushing for a more pass-heavy offense.

In the process, he jettisoned the team identity of being a smash mouth football team on both offense and defense, and created a six year losing stretch (is it seven now? eight?). Our defense has never made the actual transition and he has had his fingers all over the QB choices and trades we've made or tried to be in on. 

I get it, though. He wanted to modernize the team, put more butts in stadium seats and create a perennial play-off team, rather than an on again, off again team. 

And he tragically mis-read the room, as well as his choices in management and coaching.

So, now here we are, standing in the middle of nowhere, wondering how to begin... again (apologies to The Kinks).

When it is all said and done, Tepper's draft picks haven't been the worst ones we've had. The worst one in Panthers history was when the owners of the other 31 teams of the league got together, looked over all the ownership options, and "drafted" Tepper to be our franchise savior. 

Yippee. He had won the Hedge Fund Heisman, after all. Studied under the Rooneys. 

He's proven to be the Jamarcus Russell of NFL owners.

Talking about circling games? Are you kidding me?

Why wasn't the Bears game circled by anyone and everyone? We barely even showed up. That was an insult and a swift kick to the balls on top of what was already an utter embarrassment.

Tepper himself made it known that he walks through the office making his opinion heard to everyone. That's not something you do if you're not involved in the decision making. Coaches meetings every Monday for updates and input. Even Frank said he's in win now mentality and everything he does reflects that attitude clearly.

Do I think he's making every decision? Of course not. Do I think he's involved in the major ones? You bet your ass he is.

Some people get too emotional on things, before they pulled Dalton they were playing for wins in general. It’s since became clear that this team isn’t there. This Sunday they were not playing to win, it was clear to me, play calling, who was active and who wasn’t. We are in full blown evaluation mode now. They’re pressing the restart button and seeing who or what pieces we are gonna keep moving forward. 
 

They got the Game in Germany circled because it’s the market in Europe we’re trying to push into. It’s also one of our two remaining “winnable” games we have left on our schedule.

Like I said, 100% speculation. It’s entirely possible he just wants to be kept informed about what’s going on, if nothing else then to learn the stuff he obviously doesn’t know. There’s been nothing credible whatsoever to state that Tepper has been involved in any decision making other than coaches and GMs.  Maybe he does get involved in decisions, I have no idea. My above theory is also 100% speculation.
