Would be great if they know what they're doing, but competition is what brought him around this time. Hopefully their chosen course of action, whatever that ends up being, continues this trajectory.

True.  I wonder if Dalton reworks his contract to stay or if we bring in another guy?  The worst thing we could do is have a warm body backup just for sake of having a backup.

I would keep Dalton if possible. I think he and Bryce have a good relationship and Dalton is one of the more capable backup QB's in the league.

I'm pleasantly surprised.

He was on the verge of getting fully Carr'd and stepped up after taking back the starting job.  He still has limitations that show at times, but he did a lot to be our guy for 2025.  Not only did he look good down the stretch, it looked like he was having fun out there doing it.  That wasn't the case for an iota of last season. 

Good on him.  

Reich's team already feels like it was 5 years ago.

Young finished strong, and so he's the guy. Not shocking. We build up the defense and hope for the best next season.

I don't really envision winning a SB with Young in the long run, but at this point I just want to watch mostly competitive games. Make it interesting and give us a shot at making the playoffs most seasons. I think that's realistic with Young moving forward, and if not then we can move on to a new QB.

I like Dalton and I agree he's good for Bryce and the team, but at 38 this year, he's a short term rental.  I'm not gonna lie, I still have curiosity about Trey Lance.

If I was Dalton, I would resign to be a backup and hold a clipboard. Dude is collecting checks telling Bryce that he is doing a good job and practicing football M-F, who wouldn't want that dream job?

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
