Just letting him get "his guys" doesn't work.

Agreed. I'm all for getting him as much help as we can but based on his past recommendations, he should have no say in what personal we target.

Nick Scott, Jordan fuller, DJ Johnson, Jamie Robinson, Troy Hill, A'Shawn Robinson, Josey Jewell, DeShawn Williams. All guys we brought in cause of Evero and the only decent guys being Robinson and Jewell. He has shown in Denver and last year here that he can run a good defense when the talent is in place but he's an awful scout.

I think this is Canales saying they believe the issue with the Defense was a talent issue, not a coaching issue. I’d expect a huge turnover and a heavy defense driven draft this year.

we also need to continue to build depth on the Oline and see if we can get a game breaking WR like Higgins but other than that, there isn’t much more that we can do for this offense right now. Have to let Sanders, Coker and Leggett develop and that will help us more than anyone besides Higgins may do for the offense.

He hand picked Woods and Fuller.  Both suck.

But yes, safety room needs major attention.      I'm honestly not sure where we are the worst at S, DE, or LB.  All 3 are huge holes.

If we’re sitting at 8 and T-Mac, Graham, and Johnson are all gone then Starks needs to be in consideration for the pick.

Safety’s rarely go top 10 but Starks is deserving in this draft and he’s the best safety to come out since Kyle Hamilton.

Drafting a safety high is also a relatively safe pick (no pun intended). The top safety’s in the league are all first or second round picks and the hit rate is pretty good.

I don't think he "hand picked" them as much as they just tried to get affordable talent familiar with him. They were hoping that they'd be elevated by the system again, but low and behold we're running a bunch of soft cover three zone to deal with the talent deficit that ended up being somehow worse than anticipated.

I can also see the team not looking to invest heavily in EE's guys without knowing whether or not he'd be back. Now that there's direction there, they can go all in. Considering that he's had to work with scraps the last couple of seasons, it's an exciting change to me. 😄

There is no DC that would even field a top 25 defense with a starting 11 including players such as LaBryan Ray, Shy Tuttle, A'Shawn Robinson, Jacoby Windmon, Josey Jewell, Jordan Fuller.

Evero was considered a top 5 DC before the season. Canales made the right call.

Several of those players he brought in, and a handful he pushed out.

We lost Luvu, Chinn, Jackson and Burns. We brought in several of his former players.

Dan Morgan should pick every defensive player he wants in this upcoming draft. Then they should tell EE to go ahead and orchestrate his defense according to the players we drafted him we need to get the players that we want for this team because there’s no insurance that EE is going to be with us long-term.

    • The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul
    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
