PFF: The ideal haul for every team in the first three rounds

Carolina Panthers:

EDGE Mike Green,

Dl Alfred Collins,

S Nick Emmanwori

Carolina’s defense was the worst in football last year and is devoid of many cornerstone players. The Panthers will definitely invest in that side via free agency, but the draft should offer the crux of the foundation.

Green (20.2% pass-rush win rate) put together a fantastic 2024 at Marshall and has ascended ever since. Collins would help complement the returning Derrick Brown with his 85.0 PFF run-defense grade and his 69.8 PFF pass-rushing grade. The local Emmanwori should light up the combine to go along with his elite 86.8 PFF coverage grade from a year ago.

I'm in love with Emmanwori...just don't think he'll be there at our late 2nd.  He is playmaker, which is what we need.  Getting Jalon in the first and Nick in the 2nd would have a huge impact on our defense

Nick Emmanwori is an #athlete and a half. Damn. 4.38 second 40 at 6-3 and 220 lbs. His 11'6" broad is elite. UPDATE: He had a 43-inch vert.

I hate using rounds 1-3 on safety. Im starting to believe the best value at 57(2nd round) will be safety....I hate it, but Panthers need at least 4 of them including 2 starters pre-FA...

The safety group doesn't seem that deep. I would rather spend draft capital on deep positions and get really good players.

We will obviously take a kicker, long snapper and KR with our first three picks.

there is a kicker with a sixth round grade--from Florida St.  Watch us draft him

I've had a boner for Green this entire process once I dug more on him on tape.  I think he plays hard and violent and we need that.  My only concern is the assault stuff.  Seeing and wondering how that goes, however if we've done actual dilligent background work and he clears, we need him in a panthers jersey.

Greens Boner is his only draw back!

He's been accused of sexual assault TWICE. no way I'd be cool with picking him.

In the 4th.

I know you guys are joking but we have someone on staff that would resign if we drafted a kicker before round 6. I'm not looking him up but we have a staffer in analytics that wrote a big ass paper one why you should NEVER draft a kicker unless its with a 7th rounder and even then its a bad investment.

    • Facts it's still crazy that they made him sell over that especially considering what some of the other owners have done.  JR was a rich 80 year old white man from the south I'm not at all surprised about him making some "inappropriate" comments about what a woman is wearing water is wet what a surprise. That's just the way things were done during his time, and he should and did get punished for his actions by paying some hefty fines, but it definitely wasn't something that he should've been forced to sell his team over.  I'll never forget him insulting Peyton Manning during a negotiation, reportedly belittling the quarterback’s knowledge of player safety and asking, “Do I need to help you read a revenue chart, son?
    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
