Joe Person: Panthers really like Mason Graham and Jalon Walker

there is more of a chance that Sanders falls out of the top 8.  Let's have some fun.  Pick the slot you think Dart will go.  I will say 7 to the Jets just for fun--(as I said, it is unlikely, but tell me where the other side of the Grand Canyon is.  We will see who is closest if we both don't forget.

#37 to the Raiders.

Walker is 6’2” and 245 lbs. That’s a LB, not a safety. He’s clearly bigger than Thomas Davis was when we drafted him. He was a borderline safety, Walker is not.

Actually, from the combine, he’s 6’1” and 243. He’s not a safety but he’s a bit small.

Not sold on either at 8 yet. I get the nagging feeling they end up blowing another 1st this year. These guys look like 2nd round guys to me so far. A tweener edge guy and a weak DE that could be picked up later.

Luke was 6'2" 238

Beason was 6'0 238

Morgan was  6'2 245

Looks like he's just fine to me

I see Ward going #1 and Cleveland almost certainly takes Sanders second.  I personally see that is a near lock.  The Browns are going QB

If Ward goes #1, the Browns will draft Carter, that's the easiest pick out there. They will bring in a FA QB to start the season. And who knows, they may try and make a play at Dart late 1st or 2nd rd?

The big deal for me is that all of those guys were true MLB tackling machines. Specifically Morgan and Luke were well over 100 tackles in their final collegiate seasons. Jalon Walker is like a 60 tackles guy.

I like both of these guys but the more I hear sensationalist commentary on James Pearce jr the more intrigued I become.

he’s the only other “clean” edge rushing prospect in this class, he comes out and destroys the combine and the immediate “leaks” are “yeah, no, not even a first rounder.”

that’s suspicious to me.

He was talked about as a possible number one overall pick coming into the season. He put up major production. He’s tremendously athletically gifted. Those guys don’t last until round 2.

in any case I just want the team to gauge his personality for themselves and not make any hive mind decisions regarding him, this is absolutely the kind of thing where we pass on him and fancy ourselves really clever up until the moment Philly runs the card in to take him at record speed.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
