Simple question. For me it's an easy yes, we are in much better shape. Not necessarily a top 10, but us improving even to 20 or so would be a huge leap and i think we've got a front that could probably get us trending that way.

looks like what the power trio of Morgan/Tilis/Canales did with the OL last year they are doing to the DL so i'm excited.

it's still early in FA, but i really like what ive seen.

No where to go but up

If a couple of the moves pan out, we're a Top 20 defense, which is probably all we can ask for right now.  A top 20 defense wins us a couple more games last year. IF we continue to get new Bryce, plus the additions, I think we've got a shot at competing for the division.

Getting more big guys was so important. Anyone we draft on defense will be so much more effective. They can double up on edge or maybe get a LB now. An undersized Jalon Walker doesn’t look as bad if we know he’ll have some 1:1 opportunities(still don’t want him).

DL: Brown/Brown III/A’Shawn (Wharton, Tuttle, Crumedy)

OLB rotation: Clowney/Wonnum/Jones II/Barno/DJJ

ILB: Jewell/Trevin/Incoom

CB: Horn/Jackson/Smith-Wade

S: Moehrig/TBD/Richardson

It’s no doubt improved but safety still has an hole (draft methinks), edge rusher and corner are still very upgradable (draft as well)

On paper we've made improvements no doubt. Especially along the DL which is what I wanted. But we have paid a lot of money to do so. I'm in prove it mode with Evero currently. We need progress big time. No excuses.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
