Re-claiming this Board

We've been worn down. Ground to nothing.

I've always been one of the "it's going to work out, have some faith" guys on this board. Last guy off a sinking ship and all that.

Folks, I've had a lot of health issues this year and it dawned on me after the last preseason game, I may just not have another year left in me, and I sure as hell don't want to spend much time from it watching this same old poo go down again. I've loved this team, still do, but there's got to be something from them for me to continue with this. This relationship has become toxic for me and well, I may hit the eject button early in the Panther's season to go and see other things in life.

I don't believe in Mushy-head Morgan building a team, he was the dumbest linebacker of his group here. I sure as hell don't believe in the team ownership, just another bunch of carpet-bagging Northerners coming down here and telling us how we were doing it all wrong. I barely believe in Coach Canales but think he's been saddled with terrible OCs and DCs and position coaches because that's all that would come here. I'm just fuging tired of this.

And from the sound of the board, I'm not the only one who is feeling ground down.

I've only been here for 5 years, so I don't know what the "Good old days" looked like.  But I rarely post on here anymore because I either get personally insulted or talked to like I'm an idiot for my opinion.  I just assumed this was like the rest of the internet where cowards vent their frustrations with life on strangers to make them feel better.  I originally came here looking for discussion about our team with other fans - but rarely have I been able to have a reasonable conversation without it descending into childishness.

Frankly some of the Mods are the ones who do it worst - based on the responses to this thread seems like this site might need an enema.

I do appreciate the original poster for putting this up - the site probably won't get better without someone standing up for it.

People will always have something to complain about. You don't HAVE to reply to everyone. If someone takes the topic off the rails, let them. You don't have to reply and continue on. You choose to defend yourself and your opinion. Post your ideas and opinions, reply to the ones that offer good conversation. I let ridiculous comments sit there like a trophy for all to see. I may reply with a lol, but that is the extent of it. Losing seasons give us losing topics to discuss. Start winning and see this place get more light shed on it. I don't think the mods, who are unpaid, are doing a bad job. I also don't think they are attacking anyone. Half the time, they are just keeping the conversations going and adding to this place, when others are just bystanders an not posting. I have had plenty of good conversations and there have been good topics discussed here. Even yesterday the all-22 discussion was a good thread.

Help make the place better, enjoy it for what it is, or leave. No one is forcing anyone to login to this site. Now sit back and enjoy this 5 win season you're about to get.

This is what seven losing seasons and looking like trash in the preseason again looks like, y'all. Hate to say, it doesn't breed a lot of positivity.

We had this exact same thread last year. Some folks left and started a Discord group. Maybe check it out.

I don't know what else to tell you.

Very true.

I think we all just want to see a positive trend upward, and when the Panthers look like a 5/6 win team, we will hear why they are that team. There have been some positive changes, but it has been too slow. The team is responsible for giving the fan base something to watch and at least be competitive. We all want to win and build a champion, but true fans will boo and put bags on their heads while still buying tickets and gear because they want to see a change for the positive. It's not the fan's responsibility to pull up the team and coddle their emotions. Our responsibility as a fan is to give our honest feedback and pressure the team to become a champion. If the players break because of the fans, then you likely don't have a champion caliber player.

This board has stayed true to the fan. Rah rahs for their favorite players in bad times are always welcome, but not everyone will be a rah rah, and there will be fans that don't eternally hope for a player - especially on a consistently under performing team.

I'm sure some will call this trolling too and I will get the poo. Oh well

Just the way it goes. As the team goes, so goes the fanbase. If you need nothing but positivity in your life then my suggestion is to bail on Tepper's Panthers. I find myself watching fewer and fewer games and giving up earlier in the season with each passing year. It is what it is. Don't let the floundering of his team negatively impact your life.

The board is not the problem.

There are two opposing forces on here.

One side has no hope for this season or the near future and wants others to feel the same way.

The other side wants to feel hope and wants others to feel the same way.

Nothing is going to change until the team wins again.

Honestly the vast majority are somewhere in the middle. There's a few with absolutely no hope, a few with unbridled optimism and everyone else is somewhere on the spectrum of cautiously optimistic and hoping for the best while fully expecting the worst. I'm firmly in that last camp. LOL

Going on likely 8 consecutive losing seasons under the Tepper's and there are people who look to their fellow fans as the first source of their problems instead of correctly assessing the team for what it is and has been. Sounds like a cult 🤷‍♂️

We interact with other fans here, not the team. What does assessing the team have anything to do with any of this. It’s just blaming an outside source for people’s attitudes and behaviors. Idk about you but I’m in control of my own.

The decline of this board is nothing compared to the decline of the team.

As for the reality of the internet, there are a lot of places to recieve Panthers content and give opinions. The tech has just moved on along with the masses. This place is still fun for me because the team isn't.
