It wasn't Legette's man that got the pick.  A guy dropped of his coverage assignment because Bryce was staring XL down.

I know that. Did XL fall down because the DB bumped him too hard. The ball was tipped and it was the man covering LX who got the interception.

That INT is the perfect example of the coverage cheating I always talk about with Bryce on the field.  They know they don’t have to respect certain routes.   Especially the S.  Safeties cheat and don’t play essentially how they are supposed to.

Another opening day and another S not respecting the downfield threat and coming up to make plays because they all know what Bryce does

Absolutely truth

I want Bryce to succeed and live up to his draft position. I'm just frustrated we've seen this middling Bryce far too often during season starts, and for what we've given up to draft him, I'd like him to be a settled top notch starter in the league, not a "maybe he'll be top tier in a decade."

Sunk cost fallacy is at play here, and if Young doesn't show out consistently, it's time to move on.

Saca, you used to think every Panther team was a potential Superbowl winner. I'm sorry the Panthers had to stomp on your soul and rip out your spine. I could have warned you but that's like telling a kid there's no Santa.

From that view, XL is getting depth--if he doesn't drift deeper by a yard or two, if he closes down the route a yard or two, does the ball get picked? Secondly, he is floating--not sprinting--I do not give 100% of the blame to him, but my college coach would have ripped me a new ass in the film room on Sunday night if I did that---

As for the pass?  If he throws it around XL's knees it is not picked--it was telegraphed to an extend and XL was drifting deeper and not sprinting.  Ugly, really

I saw tmac floating and jogging on a route across the middle earlier too.

both things can be true, if your scheme asks for your QB to be perfect it’s not a good scheme

If a QB requires everything to be perfect to look good that is also a problem.

It’s alarming how much Bryce appears to rely on momentum and confidence and a decked out o-line. He might have the mind for the game but the physical tools aren’t present to just play the game down for down.

Piggybacking off an earlier comment, Matt Moore would look like Favre in this offense. Cam wish he had a supporting cast like this. Delhomme would be a top 5 QB in his peak on this squad. Steve  Beuerlein would look like a god.

Im not giving up on Bryce yet but he was the #1 pick. That kind of player elevates a team and doesn’t rely on the supporting cast. He must arrive and show us something this game.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
