How hot is Canale’s seat

Honestly, we’re at a place now if we fired him, who is gonna come here that’s an upgrade?  Nobody.

hes not getting fired even though he clearly looks unprepared, but he’s gotta be damn close to losing the locker room.

Exactly. If we fire Canales within two years, the only options that would come here would be coaches that likely wouldn't sniff a HC elsewhere (like a longtime position coach/associate head coach) or a retread like Mike McCarthy or Bill Belichick. We won't be in consideration for anybody with options.

After the Rhule, Reich, and Canales disasters, the question becomes does Tepper finally seek help to hire someone?

Another big issue is the Panthers will have to find a diamond in the rough, desirable coaches will and have turned down coming here. Don’t see that changing.

Given a good quarterback and defensive coordinator I think he can be a successful coach. Things are stacked against him right. Partially his fault. But I think some of it is to please the Teppers. Rivera made some bad decisions his first couple years as a first time head coach, but he had Cam and a much better defense to win some games.

I feel like there had to be some kind of Bryce busting contingency agreement that would allow Canales a clean shot if the Bryce thing doesn’t bear fruit. Meaning unless there are other issues he should be okay. There might be other things.

I know what the anti Morgan people say, and they may be right. That he lobbied for Bryce. Right along with the rest of them. Swallowed all of it, the hook the line and the sinker.

I just can’t believe anyone who played in the NFL could look at Bryce and feel that way. I think Dan as a LB would be salivating to play against him. I cannot resolve that conflict in my mind so I don’t totally buy that he was an advocate.

I see it more like his job is to support his boss. Putting on a unified front. While having enough sense to see which way and how hard the wind was blowing around him. You can’t do much being the lone holdout when you are below people on the totem pole. So I want to say he was pragmatic. Fine if you don’t agree, not down for arguing about it. We are all speculating about it anyway.

The way they drafted and signed and spent in 2024 was overwhelmingly slanted towards one goal which was propping up the weak link. That tells me they had a mandate from the boss to make it work, whatever it took.

I am not so quick to dismiss Morgan under those circumstances, and I think this year’s rookie class is going to be pretty successful. I think the team will improve as we go, and prefer to wait before condemning the whole operation. To me they are majorly handicapped at QB. Playing from the white tees in a blue tee league.

Now, otoh if I knew for a fact that Dan Morgan was a pro Bryce over Stroud man, and had real Bryce belief? I would want him gone no matter his history. Stated as a person who was vehemently anti NFL Bryce (not personally, only as an NFL 1st overall).

His decisions to cut Renfrow and then sign him back to start him and then to have Yosh start at LT when Ikem was out should be enough to put him on the hot seat. That just shows incompetence.

Everos gonna be like “you think I’d have told you my plan if there was any way you could stop me?

dave Canales was fired 17 minutes ago.”

There is a real chance they could lose out. That should shut any door into year 3. Gifted wins aren't coming together this year apparently. It's a trainwreck so it's hard for me to see the conductor surviving that but then there is Evero in year 3 so who knows with these dummies

We got BUMS like XL out there going for -2 yards. Would have been better off having 10 on the field..you can't tell me JHJ is incapable of doing more than that. Tremayne's early catch that was 15 yards behind him was a better play than XL has ever made. Also why is every HC also obsessed with calling the offense as well? We're a trainwreck in every area, maybe focus on doing one thing well before trying to take on two.
