Canales has really soured on me with all his coach speak and Rah rah mentality. But who wants to coach this dumpster fire with a bad qb

I agree. But in terms of QB. I've seen enough coaches fall on a sword for Bryce Young.

Guys, be patient with XL. Sure, he’s shown absolutely nothing and doesn’t know where to like up or seem to care, but it’s OK because reasons. It’s the quarterback’s and coach’s fault he can’t run routes or catch.

He got hit hard once and everyone knows, no WR has ever had a good game for the remainder of their career once they get lit up once in a game. Besides, no WR could ever put up decent numbers in this offense.

Just please ignore Thielen and T-Mac.

Forget route running, blocking, drops for a second. During our hurry up drive, the team was hustling to the line to get the next snap and XL was just strolling back from his last route like he was walking in the park on a Saturday afternoon. That poo’s infuriating. It’s effort and awareness; no excuse for being that casual.

XL is a social media influencer masquerading as an NFL player, IMO. I think he is far more passionate about that poo than he is football. I think it shows on the field.

It’s not his fault because he’s got a southern accent and he’s tall. Ask any NFL talent evaluator worth his salt and he’ll tell you those are the two most vital metrics for a WR. This effort, rote running, catching, bullshit is meaningless. And he doesn’t drop passes anyway. Young either throws them too hard or too soft. T-Mac didn’t play any better than XL Sunday, anyway, which is proof it’s not XL’s fault.

he needs to find something this team can do consistently…if anything

There's a ton of consistency. Linebackers miss far more tackles than they make. Safeties, one in particular, takes poor angles all the time. The quarterback consistently plays every first quarter with his eyes closed, the WRs other than two consistently look like they're in the UFL and the entire defense celebrates when it holds a RB to a 15-yard carry.

There's such a laughable lack of accountability for this team.

I'm tired of Canales's positivity culture, it shows lack of accountability and no sense or urgency and this team plays like it. There is a huge difference in Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn's post game press conferences. They don't skirt the terrible in game mistakes and get straight to the point and say that they need to coach better.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
