Is Mike Jack already the 2nd best trade in Panthers history?

Jackson is Morgan's best move and exactly what you want to find later in the draft and in trades. Good player who is reliable and worth what they are paying him. I wish we had 10 more players like him.

He isn't catching Olsen who was a great player but that's not a negative but just the reality.

I mean the panthers have mostly been in an era where player trades don’t happen.

its not like the nba.

Weve done quite a few trades in our history. Even the Olsen trade was a player for a pick. When you look at our trades across the board, we've been on the losing end far more than we've been successful or broke even.

I still say the fact that we literally got anything for Robby Anderson literally 24 hours after he got kicked out of a game for arguing with a position coach was a good trade. Same thing for Diontae Johnson.

Okay so compare that to other teams across the same timespan and tell me where you land.

Dont just woe is me because its hard to be a panthers fan.

Undoubtedly he's a very solid player and was a really good acquisition.

Now the question is how will he Jaycee and the rest of the secondary fare when we go up against a really good QB and our offense has to sustain drives to keep them off the field too long.

Probably will not fare well, but if the Panthers can just beat the bad NFL teams and half of the decent teams, this would be a huge improvement and would show progress in the right direction instead of the constant rebuild.

So we turned a 1st into a 3rd and 7th. Is that supposed to be good?

At the time of the trade, yeah, absolutely.  KB was absolutely cooked.  Getting anything for him was a win, and a third and seventh is pretty good.

I mean Deandre Hopkins went for a 5th.  Deebo for a 5th.  Jerry Juedy for a 5th and 6th.  Davante Adams for a 3rd.

KB lasted less than a year with the Bills, and when he was cut, he had the worst catch rate in the league at 35%.

I agree at this point winning at all is needed to restore some semblance of confidence and culture. But can we be honest with one another? I am in no way advocating for tanking because it isn't a realistic concept. But how many times now over these last 8 years or so have we won games that ultimately proved to be meaningless to our culture when we opened the following season looking like butt cheeks? Just beating up a bad team here and there or squeaking by a competitve team on occasion is not going to move the needle. Real culture change will happen with sustained success. That begins with competing for our division and the playoffs.
