I'm All In On Drafting a QB in Round 1

We should be in position to get one of the better QBs in the draft. We can't keep ignoring the position. Bryce will never get us over the hump, and we have no NFL worthy backup QBs. We have great young talent at WR, and TE. We need a qb that can distribute the ball to them better and throw the ball down the field.

I don't know about that man.  We would be picking 16th if the draft started today.  We still have 2 games left against the Saints and regardless of how you feel about us - they look much worse.

I'm 100% down to take a QB in the 1st, but I really doubt we will be in a position to do so.  It isn't a strong class to start with.

This QB draft class kinda sucks. Like the year that we had the 1st pick. I would keep Bryce since it’s the last year of his contract, go after one of the higher end veteran QBs in FA, whoever that will be, and then take a shot on day 2 or 3 on somebody like Haynes King.

At that point, if it fails you can clean house and the new staff has a chance to pick their QB.

Our 1st rounder needs to go towards Edge or LB. Maybe OL but that can probably be handled in Free Agency.

It could be a strong class, but most of the underclassmen are likely go back to school because with NIL the need for a quick payday by going pro is greatly reduced.  Several teams picking ahead of us need QBs too.

Sure, along with a new HC. This one isn't even a good OC.

They are going to end up with a top 10 pick as this goes the way it's heading. Bryce isn't winning without a extremely effective run game either and most of the easy games are over and other teams are building up to their playoff runs at this point in the season. That's a bad combo for the team.

Not against it, clearly, seeing as I'm one of the more vocal anti-Bryce guys on here.

But I'm nowhere near saying that I'm "all in" on it at this point, for many reasons.  Mainly because it's way too early to know where we'll be drafting, what QB's will be actually worth 1st round picks, and who might be there once we're on the clock.

If there is a QB that makes sense, then yes, 100% I'm in.

But reaching and taking the wrong QB will set us back another 5 years.  We're not a piece or two away from contending, but I do think we have a lot of nice building blocks in place that if we go about things the right way the next few offseasons, we have a real shot at being relevant again this decade.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
