Who is your bridge QB--uh, I mean, backup for next season then?

I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.

A lot of qbs got benched this year (Russell Wilson, everyone in Oakland) or got hurt. Probably should only compare him to the qbs that played over 13 starts or whatever.

so i went back and looked at yards per game qbr and regular qb rating all had young at 24th which is probably still a little high bc alot of backups or players only playing a few games didnt qualify but would probably be higher than he is so i revise and say byoung is somewhere between 22 to 28th best qb in the nfl

Tepper. He strikes me as when he is in your corner, because he thinks you can help him, he is a staunch supporter. A rock. But if he stops believing, your ass is gone.

They replaced him with Stafford. Where you gonna find another Stafford and what do the Panthers have to give up to get him if he was even available?

The panthers could have gotten Lamar Jackson for less than what they gave up for Bryce.

Jokes aside, I don’t think finding an upgrade on Bryce young with he same gap as Goff to stafford would be to too hard.

we are not even talking about a pro bowler, Roy, or guy wit a winning record

Depends on which trade price you believe. Rumor I tend to believe was 3 1sts, 3 2nds plus players for a MVP QB and contending with his massive new contract. But with Lamar wanting a team to build around him, that asking price and contract made it impossible to do realistically.

BY9 played a lot better than Stroud is right now… sheeeeeesh 💩

6% less yards with 25% less attempts.

If Stroud was playing for the Panthers maybe we would have actually won.

    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and a super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
