Just grab a journeyman QB or draft one smartly, continue building up the defense and sure some more work on the offense. Just quit building around this turd that has  kept us a bottom offense regardless of what changes around him

Try both. Do what the Giants did. Sign two legit vets and then still keep QB on the draft board. They signed Jameis then they turned around and added Russ Wilson when the opportunity presented itself then they still drafted Dart in the 1st. When you need a QB you have to exhaust all options. Give yourself multiple chances.

What’s funny is I see people on Reddit wanting to use top draft picks on WR for Bryce.

Like we’ve already spent back to back 1st rounders on WR as well as a second rounder the year Bryce was drafted. Not to mention getting the highest paid Oline in the league and a supposed QB whisperer as coach.

I mean sure you can say some of that stuff hasn’t worked out but damn it’s like no difference year to year with Bryce

How many resources should we spend for this little fella? How much help does he need? He’s got two first round WRs, Rico who’s been playing out of his mind, a excellent upgraded OL, a supposed qb whisperer coach, he’s got it all and still sucks.

There will be be some that still blame the weapons and Canales.

But go look at Bakers weapons today as he went for almost 300 and 3 TDs.  Which isn’t better than Bryce’s ROOKIE season.

Issue is simple.  Bryce doesn’t have NFL tools.  On top of that, he didn’t fit Frank or Canales.

and finally, we knew that before this season started.  It’s why I always claimed this season was basically Rhule’s year 3 but with Bryce.  We were pointlessly wasting a season.  Which we are/did.

Could ask the Darnold and Teddy supporters when they were here. Some people are just such huge player fans they don't like to be wrong.

I still say Teddy made sense and the intial plan was solid.  Then Teddy outed Rhule and the plan got scrapped

Hell, look at what Jaxson Dart is doing in NY even after losing his #1 WR and #1 RB. Yeah, the Giants suck but Dart is showing a lot of promise and gives them a chance every week where it feels like we have to overcome our QB every week to have a chance.

When Bryce is carried by the defense and running game, Bryce supporters say that it was a team effort and that Bryce did his part handing the ball off and making (simple) throws to win.

When Bryce needs to step up because the run game has been stifled and the team needs to win through his arm, Bryce supporters will blame Tepper, Canales, O-line, Defense, receivers, tight ends, weather conditions, the NFL, and fans who don’t support BY9.

I feel Dave and Dan see this, hence the emphasis on being a running team. Bryce doesn’t have the tools to succeed in a pass happy league.

Panthers reddit is bad for you. It is chocked full of Icege KaseKlosed AceBoogie and *FreeFua* clones who would happily give up their firstborn child if it meant carrying water for Bryce Young no matter how bad he plays. There's nothing anyone can say to help someone like that.

We were locked into wasting this season when we drafted him. And many of us knew that at the time, I have been in deep football depression the whole time. We just threw so much away.

Every time Bryce drops back, I wince.

I loathe Bryce apologists and firmly believe they have learning disabilities.  I also believe they have no idea what football is or how it works.

Their opinions are about as useful to me as tits on a boar hog.

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
