Predicting the rest of Bryce Young’s career after he leaves the Panthers

Let’s say we all get our wish and Bryce is not retained after the final year of his rookie contract next season. Maybe he’s even traded this offseason if the team manages to upgrade the position, but unlikely. How does the rest of his career go? Where does he go? Does he have any success?

My prediction is he goes to the Rams in 2027. Matt Stafford is close to retirement and Bryce is from California and works out there in the offseason. I think we initially see Bryce have some limited success in McVay’s offense and ultimately he falls apart after defenses see the same physical limitations that made him a terrible QB on the Panthers. After that he bounces around many teams as a backup until he unceremoniously retires in his mid 30s.

Unlike Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who had physical talent but needed a better coaching staff and supporting cast, Bryce Young is just not physically capable of being an NFL QB. Much like an old veteran QB who mentally knows what to do and just can’t physically do it anymore, Bryce just flat out can’t physically do it. It’s sad to watch and I think while he gets another chance as a starter in the NFL as a starter, it won’t be pretty.

Mahomes backup

It really would be a good situation for both sides.  Bryce sucks, but he does have some Mahomes-esque style of play at times.

He'd be a great addition to the QB room on non gamedays and likely be a good asset for Mahomes to bounce things off of on the sideline during games too.  He'd always be mentally ready to play if called upon and could probably execute a lot of KC's plays well, as they do well at scheming players open as well as their large portfolio of trick plays that don't require much from the QB other than mini tosses on their jet sweep type of plays.

He could be a long term backup option for them so they don't have to keep cycling in new backups.

Now if Mahomes ever really goes down for good for a season, they're screwed, but that would be the case with most backups anyways and think what he'd provide as a pure backup would be better than most other options.

He's set for life and laughing all the way to the bank regardless of what transpires after this. Everyday people who are terrible at their jobs just get kicked to the curb with nothing more than the shirt on their back.

Do we really think any other team is going to look at what Boy Wonder did here and decide to hand him the starting position for their franchise?

No way he beats out any real NFL competition in a honest camp battle.

I predict the rest of his career is commentating on college gamedays or just disappearing.
