Like sure CJ threw more interceptions than bryce against the same defense but they also managed to score more points and get past the fifty yard line more than once.

18/30 150 yards 1 TD isn’t the flex bryce defenders think it is.

Thats why his performance was especially terrible because if he doesn’t melt down and throw 4 picks they 100% win that game

I put them both on the same level.  CJ is currently at 'Bryce's benching' stage though so BY is technically above him right now.

My goodness 2023 was a horrible year to draft a QB though!!

that game was snowing cold windy and cj handled those conditions terribly..  but he still was way way way above byoung in every category pretty much in 2025 y/g y/p qbr and passer rating not even close

The risk you take when trading up, which I’ve never wanted to do.

But Tepper was going to land on Levis without a trade up, so I’m more than skeptical that any of the 2024 blue-chippers would’ve been chosen a year later.

Hindsight being 20/20, we just went all in on the wrong QB class. We would've been far better off investing all those assets we spent elsewhere.

But as we've seen, unless it's a Peyton Manning, there really is no sure number 1. You're better off taking your QB where you sit or trading up a spot. Moving up to 8 spots to number 1 is just too costly in terms of picks and the ability to build around that QB.

This is also why you should always be trying to develop in the backup role instead of settling for a Dalton type player. There are no guarantees and the more shots you take, the more chances you have of finding your guy or a bridge guy until you find THE guy.

Or, you get some dumb ass team to trade a small fortune for your number 1 overall pick and take your QB with the 1st overall that they traded to you as part of the package because they were so impatient.

The Texans have badly botched their situation on offense. They had an awful OL in 2024 so what do they do? They trade the one player on the OL that was good (Laremy Tunsil) and fire the O.C. who was helping Stroud develop into a good QB.

C.J. Stroud looked absolutely broken yesterday. Like he just wanted the game to be over with.

Maybe Ryans was threatened by Bobby Slowik? That could explain why he gutted the offense and redirected all the resources into "his" side of the ball on defense.

    • Absolutely. He just turned 27 a few days ago, so quite young. He and Moehrig would be quite the pairing.  I know we say this every year, but this FA period has A LOT of talent that will be switching uniforms. We were aggressive last year and have no doubt this time next week will have some studs on defense.
    • DJ Moore has always been a bit of an enigma. He came here young, flashed a ton of potential, but never truly grew into a real #1. He’s had a few good reasons, but yet to have a real monster season (outside of his first year with Chicago) We’re still waiting for him to blossom, but he will be 29 next season. I fear that it is too late for him at this point.
    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
