I don't understand this one at all. The Dolphins just signed Malik Willis and then traded away his only weapon at WR.

That is Fitterer level thinking right there.

Maybe the player wanted out. They are in pretty bad shape down there with the cap and the prospects of winning are low

Cap. They’re getting young and cheap and stocking picks. Let’s be honest it’s more likely than not Willis is not a good full time starter and they need to take a QB high in the draft over the next 3 years. If he is they can be aggressive next year.

They are trying to get younger and out from under the cap.  If Willis implodes they will be in a good position to reset

I'm actually in the other camp. I think the dolphins just stole a 1st and a 3rd for an oft injured #2 wr.

This is a full tear down rebuild. They aren't going anywhere this year. Malik wilis isn't a franchise qb. They should now have tons of draft capital to start the rebuild. Not reload

I get that they are rebuilding. But Waddle was only a number 2 because of Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins have a bunch of JAGS at WR outside of Waddle, they just paid a lot of money to Malik Willis to be their QB (if they didn't think it was possible for him to be a franchise guy, they would have just signed a one-year bandaid like Kirk Cousins or something), and yes they got a 1st round pick, but this is a weak draft, so the quality of player they will be drafting will not have 1st round value. I understood the other cap cuts and trades. This one is the only one I saw as hurting the team, IMO.

Waddle had 1 really good year 4 years ago and has been a solid #2 ever since. Without tyreek last year he couldn't break  1000

Willis contract is basically only a 2 year prove it deal like jones. Theyre not sold on him either. He's basically a high paid tank commander to make it look like they're trying

Highly doubt we do it but I wish we'd get Shaq Thompson as a vet presence and rotational guy at ILB. Let him retire here, he still has a fair bit in the tank at only 31 despite playing for like 20 years.

Or. Hear me out. We could actually draft one worth a damn seeing as we have a former LB for a general manager.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
