The stat is skewed because UGA threw quick screens and 3 step drop passes more than pretty much any other team in the nation. His “true pass block grade” was barely top 30 in the nation.

He ran great and jumped high, but he struggled with the drills. I literally thought to myself “I hope we don’t take this player”  during the combine. I just don’t understand why Carolina feels the need to draft these raw, boom or bust players in the 1st round with very little college production? I thought Dan Morgan learned his lesson last draft when he took the highly productive WR in TMac. I don’t have time to go into detail, but his technique leaves a lot to be desired if you watch him closely.. Why is a 6’7 OT with elite athleticism the 5th OT taken in a weak draft? That’s a red flag for me. People are blindly praising the pick in here without ever watching the kid play

Don’t make me feel worse. I remember the Little combine drills and I thought the same thing, we better not take this guy. I remember Burns was at the same combine and he looked so fluid in drills. Literally the opposite of Little and clearly the results matched the drills. I’ve only had clear distaste of two prospects, Little due to the combine drills and our clear interest which made no sense and Deonte Brown who couldn’t move at the Senior Bowl. We took both of them over multiple pro-bowl prospects like Trey Smith. Boggles the mind and I hate to hear that Freeling looked terrible in the drills. That’s not being raw/needing development, that’s a huge red flag.

Just a note to other people who never watched the combine drills, it’s not the numbers game, it’s drills meant to mimic situations.

It’s a good fit, great potential coming from a big school, and he’s a true LT.

And let’s be real, on top of having a crazy injury, Icky wasn’t this completely stable piece. He improved no doubt, but he wasn’t some banger of a LT that was going to warrant top-5 positional second contract. There’s always been this idea he could be an all-pro guard, above average tackle.

Rasheed Walker is a complete unknown and we really don’t know about Icky’s recovery looks like. The guys who just drafted Freeling know the most about Icky’s progress so this may be telling.

Monroe Freeling allowed a 1.8% pressure rate during his 2025 season at Georgia, which was top among all left tackles in college football. He has a 9.99 RAS. He’s young.

Why would we complain about an OT prospect like this pick at #19 ?

I just do not understand the he won't be a starter talk. We had injuries along the OL last season. Every team does. That's why you keep drafting linemen.

When you keep drafting lineman, it means to keep picking up guys with solid potential on day 3 or maybe day 2. There are tons of starters on the OL that came from rounds 3+. Taking developmental/risky guys in round 1 like Young and Legette is not how you build. You need your Brown and TMac rock solid, immediate impact guys and the rust guys come later.

May someone smarter than me tell the people in the back how many different OL line ups we had last season?

If anyone thinks this is a bad pick then you just don't understand football and how the oline works.   Kid is 6'8 and has generational athleticism

He’s also a swing tackle. He said he’s just as comfortable on the right side.

The only way the Panthers offense can be 'average' is if they run the football.  They need big, athletic lineman to be able to do this.  Bryce is not a 'Cam QB' that can take over a game and clearly has physical limitations.  That is why they went out and got two mauling guards and paid a huge price for them.  Moton is aging and has had some knee issues.  Ickey will probably never play LT again.  This was a solid pick.  Can you imagine 2015 Cam with this O-Line?
