His athleticism is somewhat lacking which is probably why he fell this far. But the guy knows how to play the position well, something that couldn't be said for just about everyone that's played center for us since Kalil retired. We could've drafted him in the 3rd and I wouldn't have complained too much, but a 5th? Highway robbery.

Read a breakdown that said he had "hyper-athleticism", so this comment is strange.

Surely they will have leverage. He’s probably totally off some team’s radars due to lack of height and arm strength. He couldn’t help a team that is a “QB away” and he’d look like crap on a team desperate enough to sign him.

Hes 6’4

what you mean lack of height?

I’m hearing his strength and arm length is in question but I would rather have a offensive linemen who is technically sound over and having average physical traits over a player with great physical traits and no technical skills.

there’s been plenty of offensive linemen who ended up being great that didn’t have the physical tools but were technically sound and there’s been plenty of bust that were elite physical players but were raw technically.

31 5/8 inch arms; arm length is nice to have but not as important for a center as opposed to offensive tackles

Brady Christensen has a 32 1/4 inch arms for reference since he's the poster meme for short arms

We were at near-catastrophic on the o-line after Ickey’s injury. The LT bargain in FA and this draft has shored it up quickly. Amazing.

Yeah. I called it a crisis in the works and caught a lot of pushback from the WR and TE crowd. But I stand by it. That Icky injury was a real setback.

I don’t know what they would have done if we had not had things fall like they did.  Glad I didn’t have to see, and hope Freeling picks things up quickly.

Only real concern I have is weight/strength related. He seems a little light and the guys across from him are huge and strong. Hoping that him being in between Hunt and Lewis will help him out.

I like how he can pull though, we've been missing that. Our guards are a little heavy for that style but he has a Jason Kelce, Kalil style, the guards can hold down the fort while he pushes out on those types of plays. He's basically those guys builds. Bull Rush in a pass set yeah may be an issue but he's got big guards to help with that

Some of those reach blocks are crazy! Like high high level.
