That's it. How do you feel about this draft class.

Solid solid B

Not a sexy draft but a fundamentally sound draft that this franchise needed.  Only pick that I am dubious of is the brazzel pick, just seems like a one trick pony from a disney offense.  Kindof wish we went LB there.  Also wish we could have gotten at least one more olineman somewhere but you cant fix everything at once.

Overall on paper mulitple players should contribute in the upcoming years.

Yup. Much better options at WR still were on the board.  I think they were going for his height as a RZ target since we missed out on a TE.

I will stand by my opinion that we didnt need to go WR at all this draft.  Keep playing XL, keep developing horn.  I dont think Braz is going to move the needle at all this season.   That TE from Ohio St would have been an interesting pick.  As would Joly

If I'm not mistaken every TE prospect except Joly were taken before our selection.

The worst thing he did was trade up 2 slots. Which I don’t consider bad at all but some people were raging.

The overlooking of ILB was unfortunate but if you are gonna do that, at least do it for your front and that’s the way it went. As far as the players, nobody knows the future. They were all sound decisions.

There are still players with potential that will be cut at the end of preseason.  I’m sure Dan will be scouring the waiver wire for ILb.  It sucks that we’re not as high on the waiver wire priority as previous seasons but, maybe that’s an indication of progress in our roster rebuild.

I like the draft class and hopefully we get some surprise impacts but I don’t have a warm fuzzy feeling that we’ll get true impact/above average starters. Just getting a starter is nice but we’ve had a ton of recent draft picks that played a lot and we’re still JAGs to be replaced.

I’m hoping we get surprised by a couple true impact starters that make the team better not just replace guys like Scott or XL or Corbett.

When was the last time a waiver wire pickup became a starter? If a player wasn’t drafted by us, signed in real free agency, signed as a UDFA right after the draft or stolen off another teams PS after the draft (like Butker), there’s basically zero chance the player will ever be useful.

It’s like our love of 7th rounders, they won’t do anything.

Coming into this draft, a lot of what I wanted would have made our team more dynamic, and explosive but missing some parts.

after this draft, Dan definitely made this team feel more complete and filled in the holes.

Love the Freeling pick even more after watching his pressers. Dude is sharp and definitely seems to have the right mentality. I loved hearing how personal he took having a bad game with a torn labrum and instead of seeing that as the reason for his bad game and not changing anything, it motivated him to work even harder. Such a great pick, we finally got our all pro level LT for the next decade and now we can move Ickey to RT or guard with no hurt feelings due to his injury.

Second favorite pick is probably Brazzell. He said he false started on his 40 and it cost him probably 0.04 seconds, so he’s more of a 4.33 guy rather than 4.37. Really Randy Moss lite. I didn’t know anything about him prior to drafting him and first highlight reel I saw of him I immediately thought he looked like Moss. Then I saw the measurables and was like yep. Then I see that he’s drawn that comparison by many scouts and analysts. If he can add consistency and play to the level of his highlights every play then we got an incredible value.

Oh, and edit to add I freaking love our 7th round pick. Perfect pick there. Take a shot on a guy with all the size and measurables and just limited reps/production and see if he can be coached up. At minimum we got a big, fast guy who can tackle for special teams.

Kuwatch - This is a Dan Morgan pick.  The guy has elite speed.  Rated 387 but mostly because he only had one year of experience.  Love this pick

Look at who the lbs were at Ohio State. The poor bastard didn't have a chance to play until he transferred.

    • Perfect example why Zod said they are getting rid of the Tinderbox. 😉 Segmenting which swallow has the best airspeed velocity is what divides us! Bravo Zod.
    • I've been reading around on different websites about our team and OTAs and minicamps.  There are several members of this team that need to step up.  These are a few of mine.  Please feel free to add to the iist. 1. Bryce Young, Obviously the No. 1 person who needs to step up.  Bryce has been given everything a QB could ask for.  We have a top tier offensive line. Big WRs that can get open and make plays.  A decent running game.   Over tha past couple of years we have really put enough players in position to help him.  He has to be the guy to step up and utitlize his players. 2. Jaelan Phillips, Just because of the massive contract we gave him.  He has to be the leader of the pass rush.  He has to be in double digit sacks or the money isn't worth it.  He has to bring Scourton and the rest of the group to the top. 3. Ejiro Evero, Two years ago he had the statically worst defense in NFL history but was given a reprieve because we focused primarily on the offensive side of the ball for Young.  Last year we improved and we just didn't have enough to stop elite QBs.  This year he has been given just about everything a defensive coordinator could ask for.  IMO he has 4 cornerbacks that have impressed this offseason.  He received solid help for Brown with Hunter and Phillips. Our weakest area, LB Corp, we signed Lloyd to solidify that group.  With all the tools he has this season he needs to show why we kept him after 2024.  IMO he has no excuses this season.   Lastly, IMO is X. Legette. He has shown sporadic flashes but nothing to justify being a first round pick.  The WR room is stacked this season and any number of players from that group could make the 53 man roster. XL is going to have to show out this preseason.  At minimum, he performs well enough to possibly get a trade to a team needing a WR.  I think with T-Mac, Coker and Brazzell in the mix for the top three position we would be wise to utilize the remaining WR spots for players with a larger ceiling than XL.  Training Camp and Preseason will sort them out and IMO if XL doesn't flat out show out he's done in Carolina.  Feel free to add to this list.  And of course, your opinion.
