Bears looking at a former Panther

I love it. They are becoming the K Mart version of the Panthers. Or....

they are the GoBots to our Transformers (not Bayformers)

They are the crappy Ghostbusters cartoon (with the ape) compared to our Real Ghostbusters cartoon (Boogeyman was scary AF)

They are the "military action figure" GI Joe knockoff that your grandma bought you for your birthday that you had to pretend that you loved but in reality all you wanted was Serpentor and his flying chariot. (This I Command!)

Yes, I'm still stuck in the 80s. What a great decade to be a kid. But to get back on topic, the Bears suck and I probably won't draft any of them in my fantasy football league this year.

I knew this was a terrible pick the moment it happened. I called it on this very forum and was laughed at and called names.

Another name on the list of wasted second round picks from Marty.

You do realize Hurney hit on his picks as much as he missed on them in the second round, right? Yes, in the second round he had a run of bad ones, but he also had a run of good ones while heading up the draft - including Ryan Kalil. Silatolu started 28 of 33 games for the Panthers. His issue has been with injuries, and the Panthers kept him for his entire rookie contract. I would not be the least bit surprised to see him turn out like Evan Mathis or Gary Barnidge. So, if you believe Evan Mathis to be a terrible pick too, then I agree with your reasoning.

    • At the moment? Absolutely not. Maybe if they drop the next three in a row and go into the deadline at 3-6 I can see an argument to be made to move Rico as he's on a 1yr deal. I'd rather keep Chuba's contract though and roll with ETN + JB next season. The team will have plenty of time to see how JB is looking going into the offseason a year-plus after his surgery to know whether or not they need to plan for another direction.
    • I forgot to mention my thoughts on the rushing grade! 😮 He ran his ass off both weeks. I can't remember the stat offhand but didn't he have something crazy like 120+ yards after contact vs. Dallas? Against Miami he had lanes as wide as the entirety of I-95 to run through which is why his rushing grade wasn't as high as this week's. He's ran like a man possessed and going to earn himself some money in the offseason.
    • I'm not sure how much I'm changing mid year, especially when we are seeing some success.    Most Pass Rushers are physically gifted. Scheme and personnel help, but you gotta have the Jimmys and Joes, especially at that position.    We will likely lose games when the other team can throw for 400 yards, and has multiple high level receivers, but I think at this point in the development of our franchise, we have to be ok with that. You can't address every single issue at once. Really looks like we have plugged some holes on offense, and definitely in run defense. In the next draft, if we hit on a CB, an ILB and a Pass rusher, we will be pretty dangerous.
