Uh in his career he’s only had one season where he didn’t play at least 13 games.

You are right, my fault.  I have no clue why I thought he missed more games than that.  Were there reports of him playing through injuries?

Want to know why it is "realistic" that we bring in a free agent?  A decade of MH WR draft picks:

Walter Young

Keary Colbert (2nd)

Drew Carter

Dwayne Jarrett (2nd)

Ryne Robinson

Brandon Lafell (2nd)

Armanti Edwards (3rd)

David Gettis

Joe Adams

I do wonder if the Raiders or Packers change their suggested plans with Crabtree and Nelson respectively.

One of those two would be a game changer for us.  I'd feel cool with Robinson but it seems Watkins needs the right people around him...just don't know if that is a Norv Turner offense.

I agree with whoever said it: Mike Wallace is the best fit for what we're looking for.

Yep. Hurney is a historically terrible drafter of WRs. When Brandon LaFell is the hands down best WR you ever drafted (and honestly probably the only actual NFL caliber WR that you ever drafted), you're TERRIBLE at drafting WRs.

I really hope that we heavily involve Norv Turner in our WR evaluations for this draft.

Side Note: Packers new GM says they're going to be aggressive in free agency this year.

That could be fun to watch.

I can't see Robinson because of his fit/price tag.  Watkins I can see, but what is the number in mind?

That's probably a good question for it's own thread but what average annual salary would be your limit when negotiating to sign Watkins or another WR?  And what would be your plan B? C? D?

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
