Sean Payton upset over his suspension in 2012

Recommended Posts

If it is true that the NFL tried to get Payton fired and I was an owner, I would be livid with the NFL. Goodell is an attorney and should not have to be introduced to the tort of tortious interference with contract. The potential liability for the NFL would have been vast. I am no fan of Sean Payton, but the level of arrogance that is required to try to get a coach fired is immense and dangerous.

Edit: A quick check indicates that Goodell is not an attorney.

Quicker check: Goodell is a stooge.

Payton did win a Super Bowl Championship but that was 8 years ago and in last 4 years his teams have gone 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5....perplexed by all the energy focused on hating Payton, seems like a waste of energy.

You mean other than the fact the guys is an asshole we have to deal with in our division.  The guy who was kicked out in 2012 for organizing the bountygate scheme which he hid and willfully continued after his owner told him to stop.

This asshole?

Sounds like he and Drew Brees have something in common - they love whining about poo they did and can't take back. Brees sued a jeweler that he said charged him too much for a bunch of jewelry he bought after the fact. Idiot had already paid for it and wanted his money back. Now Payton complains about this suspension like 6 years later. Don't do the crime dawg.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
