Graham Gano has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.

Gano began the month against the Giants with a 63-yard field goal on the game’s final play, the longest game-winner in NFL history. He ended the month with an active streak of 28 consecutive field goals made, the longest current streak in the NFL.

Gano, who went 8-for-8 on field goals in October, has now gone more than a calendar year without missing a field goal. A first-time Pro Bowler in 2017, when he made 29 of 30 field goals, Gano’s last miss came on October 8 of last year at Detroit.

Gano has gone more than two calendar years without missing a field goal at home. He’s made 39 consecutive at Bank of America Stadium, last missing the mark on Oct. 10, 2016, against the Buccaneers.

Well done Gano!!!

Hurney has been killing it so far in making roster decisions. As unpopular as it was with some at the time, choosing Gano and Palardy  has already paid out in huge dividends.

Butker is pretty damn good too for what it’s worth. And for now, much cheaper. But yeah I’m happy with Gano and Palardy is a beast.

you guys act like Gano hasn't played any different and people were just hating on Gano for no reason, that really discredits his hard work

yea go back a year and read hate threads, but go back and look what his play was like, missing any long FG to the point we had to get it to the 30 to even attempt, then missing XP consistently.

but the real reason he was hated on was the fact he was paid as one of the best kickers, wasn't preforming and we let Butker who was making pennies but looked to be an upgrade and yet the Panthers held on to the vet, what appeared to be another Ron /loyalty casuality

As a previous Gano hater he is really coming along and I commend him for the hard work and comeback and earning his high salary. Hope it continues and he proves Ron shouldn't be afraid to attempt 50 yarders...the panthers will need that if they make the post season

This sums it up.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
