USA Today on how the Panthers are absolutely dumb for not playing Curtis Samuel

Sorry to say it, but we’ve had one too many stubborn old fashioned defensive head coaches.  Ron has done a lot of good here, and he was set up well with a generational QB talent from the moment he arrived in Charlotte.

But it’s time to get the last of Jerry’s fingerprints off of this franchise and this city, and that means Ron and Hurney both need to go.  It’s just better that way.

I see what RR is doing. Hes going to run CMC into the ground ( think why Bell opted out this year)..and in the second half of the year when CMC is getting weary of all the carries/abuse/attention...enter Samuel. Sadly,  the season is almost already lost and Samuel will be playing more or less garbage time.

The season is lost because why?  We own tie breakers against Dallas and after next week Seattle.  Wild card is highly likely.

I said during the preseason, Moore, Samuel, and Byrd on the field together is a nightmare. Just look at the last scoring drive during the Detroit  game when they was in.

Samuel and Moore should be the starters

Apparently Funch plays a position that he only knows so thats why he's still in

Would love to see Byrd out there more too. He's a playmaker

While I'm not one to burn Ron at the stake (I think he's been better than a lot here want to admit), I do think it may be time to move on.

I think he may have hit his ceiling as a coach.  I always said with John Fox, he was a great coach to get a bad team to decent, but he's not good enough to get it consistently in the playoffs.

With Rivera, I think he is a great coach to turn a decent team into a consistent playoff team.  But he's not good enough to turn it into a perennial Super Bowl contender.  Hence, why I think he may have hit his ceiling.

I believe this team is ready for someone that can take it to the next level.  We have a lot of playmakers and a solid core...even with the players scheduled to be FA's this year.  A solid GM and creative coach should push this team into being a legitimate contender, year in and year out.

Actually, I like what I've seen out of Hurney 2.0, and I think that he made some solid moves. I know that it it's not popular, but I want to see what Hurney does this next offseason.

This actually makes me mad. I've supported Ron for a very long time. I also consider myself level headed and not prone to emotional or rash opinions. But eventually I have to accept that this cannot stand right? Lie to the media and fans all you want. But put the best product on the field. He's consistently shown that playing the right guys is a problem for him. I think these last few games should determine his future here. But I have to admit, I'm leaning towards a new coach.

I feel almost exactly like you. It was kind if like trying to swim upstream with Ron at first. It was comfortable at first and you were making some headway. Then, once you stopped paddling just for a little bit, the current began to gradually take you back. Now you realize that the damned current has been slowly taking you towards a waterfall and you've got to row like hell to get to the bank before you go careening over the falls with this guy.

You have been spot on with Ron refusing to adapt to the times, and you’re right about our resources going towards the defense. Sad thing is with how far our def has regressed, it looks like we’ll have to allocate most of this off seasons resources to the defense, as well.

I just don't agree that our resources have gone toward the defense. But, let's say that they absolutely have for sake of argument, my thing is that it was Gettleman that is most responsible for the bad to middling quality of defensive players. Rivera has certainly misused high quality resources on the offensive side of the ball. He's always late to the phucking party, until fate forces his hand to do what he should've done in the beginning (or at least near the beginning of the season).

Why?  Because even assuming we somehow get into the playoffs via wildcard, we have shown over this entire season that we are completely toothless on the road.  Lest we all forget, wildcards must play the best teams in their conference on the road to get to the SB.

Our path to the SB is now an incredibly difficult one.  It's a shame, we arguably have the talent.

Analytics say Samuel should get more playing time. Tepper wants the team to use more analytics. Ron will keep playing Funchess more than Samuel.

Yup. Makes sense.

This is what I see being Ron's demise he specifically asked Ron to include analytics they clearly point towards Samuel getting more snaps and he completely ignores them which is like ignoring your boss.

And just like years past, this is the point Ron subtlely starts making the glaringly obvious changes after we’ve squandered precious winnable games.  The riverboat shows up and people rejoice, but if you can’t adapt quicker to what’s changing around you, being an NFL head coach is no longer your top qualification.

I know people are happy with our playoff appearances, but what if I told you there were better seeds than wildcard?  Would you believe me?  Should I just settle for any playoff seed?

I don't see a man trying to grow his Billion dollar business continuing to make asinine decisions like not playing or putting your best employees in a position to succeed. i.e. We'll be indoors practicing before you know it.

I see him making a few changes after being called out and followed up with Stats and facts no opinions and it's hard to ignore, that article really hurts his decision making personnel skills during his annual evaluation. Rewatch those Key drops on 3rd down alone and ask why can't he adjust quicker. What does Ron see differently from Luke and everyone else. Why is it he's getting JNO treatment after he blew that assignment on buffalo is there something we don't know about that's how I see it something has him in that Ron doghouse and he's willing to loose to prove his point. Probably not just looking for sensible answers things aren't adding up for me  but I know you don't get into the top 1% of the tax brackets by settling. So that 5/6th seed we're eyeing seems like a big disappointment from hosting a playoff game lacing the owners pockets lol.

I flashback to about 2 years ago Captain Munnerlyn was quoted as saying Fun presents no threat at all none, we know #41 likes to talk funny dude but could you see him after half a season say that about either #10 or #12
