Clelin Ferrell

Whether it’s Ferrell or not, I’m thinking we’re going to get a damn good DE in the first this year. The way FA has gone for teams ahead of us with DE nerds signing DEs, Hurney being a stud in the first round and the DE talent in this draft just adds up. Solid contributor as a rookie and potential to be elite in future.

Still want a FA DE. Rookie ends usually have a steep learning curve.

Look at what the Saints gave up for Davenport and I don’t even think he played 50% of their snaps.

I wish we would take a look at Ogbah in a trade.  He would tick off most of the boxes on what were looking for and he would come relatively cheap.  Could probably be had for a 5th round pick.

a "relatively cheap" cliche player isn't going to win the panthers the super bowl. The panthers have to commit to buying a legitimate pass rusher or they won't win the super bowl.  .

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
