Would you be willing to trade a 2020 pick for Rosen?

No.

Cam has earned the right to prove whether he can or cannot return to pre-injury form.

Drafting a guy as insurance can also be spun as drafting his backup and grooming him as potential trade bade.

Trading for a highly touted QB prospect 1 year removed from being a top 10 pick is essentially giving up on Cam.

I don't think any player has a "right" to not have the best possible insurance behind them.

That said, I'm not that big a fan of Rosen so no.

Rosen and his standoffish weirdo shet would never work around Cam.  Not a bad idea but Rosen is annoying.  Man, he can throw it though.

Personally I certainly think he is worth a second and when all is said/done costs someone a first, but not us.  Hurney just isn’t doing that.  Don’t see it.

Zona could be smoke screening the league too.  They have spent a lot of time with Bosa.

Clausen was an unknown draft pick when we got him for a high second. Using a mid third rounder on a player who was just the number 7 pick in the draft last year and did show some semblance of talent through the year doesn't seem like a bad gamble to me, if we are playing the odds that is.

Are you saying that the number one player coming out of high school and the guy who showed up to the fighting Irish in a limo was an unknown draft entity? I’m confused here.

In the sense that no one had seen him in the NFL. We have seen Rosen and know he is already better than Clausen ever was.

Would rather spend a 2nd on him than a 2nd or 3rd on Grier

I know I’m against the grain on this but if Norv wants to give a third for Grier I think I wouldn’t mind.  To me it’s all about who is evaluating.  I trust Norv. He obviously sees something in him.    If it was RR I would run for the hills.  It’s the same with the CB’s we have looked at.  I trust Fewell. I’m glad we have made recent changes to our coaching Staff will quality guys.

I normally agree with you, but a 2020 third rounder or lower would be worth the price. I am not seeing the signs that Cam is done--we are not bringing in Haskins or Jones--we are simply looking for depth--that was a need last year, so I doubt there will be any form of QB controversy.  I think drafting a guy is the  way to go, as you say.  Rosen needs to play behind a Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers for a year or two.  He was thrown  into a bad situation.
