Will be a tough fought 1st quarter defenses take over the first half I see a close 13-7 game at half with Panthers leading but 2nd half Cam and company get rolling.

Panthers 27-17

Cam connects 2 deep one to Curtis and one to DJ

notable stat Panthers D turns over Goff 3 times

Gurley is kept below 100 rushing

Panthers sack Goff 3 times and picked off twice

31-27 Panthers. Cam and offense win this one but defense does show some promise and comes up with a key 4th down stop in our own red zone late in the game.

Cam 300+ yards, 2 TDs to Olsen and Moore

Samuel 100+ yards

McC 75+ rushing, TD and 50+ receiving

Slye with a 48 yd FG, no misses.

Burns with a few pressures but no sacks or tackles.

Luke 15+ tackles and an INT

Donte pick 6

KK, Irvin, Haynes each with a sack.

ST about even no big plays for either team

Rams 30

Panthers 24

I see a game that swings wildly. As was a trend last year, the Panthers tended to either start out hot and lead most of the game and blow it/try to blow it at the end, or start out slow and try to rally back. They only played a complete game on 3 occasions (Baltimore, Tampa Bay at home, New Orleans week 17 which barely counts)

I think the Panthers start hot, lead most of the game, and blow it late. Hope I am wrong, but when I pick against the Panthers, they tend to win, so.......

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
