I think a lot depends on the direction the team is going.... teardown/rebuild vs. regrouping and rolling with Cam. Trying to foresee what the trajectory is with rolling forward piecing together certain players vs. going full rebuild is something that guys better than Hurney are made for. There's also a good chance that Cincy could still secure Herbert at 7 or be in position to move up to select him. Would they weigh taking a lesser QB + the additional draft capital vs. a guy like Burrow. GMs get fired for moves like this if they don't work out.

A Rhule + Brady + Burrow reset button would be quite interesting to dream about, and I'm a huuuuuge Cam fan. There is nothing about Burrow's game that I don't like and he is a franchise changing QB.

He might be, but the Bungles will still suck with him.

Here's a crazy "technically could happen but won't" scenario.

Imagine if Burrow pulled an Elway / Eli maneuver and refused to play for the Bengals...

This is interesting, if we do land Joe Brady could Burrow technically decline the teams in front of us if we wanted to stay with Brady?  Not just the #1 pick but all 6 in front of us?  I mean lets be honest this was by far his best year at any level, he wasn't even highly recruited coming out of high school.

Burrow was a 3 star recruit that couldn't beat out JT Barrett at OSU. He was only made to appear great by Joe Brady's system at LSU. He's 24 and doesn't have elite arm strength. If they trade up for this future "bust" it may doom the Panthers for years to come.

Joe Brady is the real star of LSU.

Ehhhh no. The strength in Burrow's game is quick release, insane football IQ, and timing routes. Receivers never have to reach back for passes, and are always hit in stride, plus his downfield passes are routinely on target, leading to a quick, efficient, and explosive passing attack. He will transition just fine.

He's very much like Drew Brees. Except he can run.

There is no price too high for a franchise QB.

Doesnt matter because the Bengals have a paranoid aversion to trading.

I could still see potentially see the dolphins having an overwhelming amount of ammunition to move up to #1 and the Bengals opening themselves up to getting jumped at #5 for Tua. That's far more plausible for us. But the Bengals arent dropping all the way to 7 in exchange for what we have.

Unless they want Cam and cam is healthy.

I would be against this kind of move. If you're going all in on a quarterback, do it in the next draft. I know this might sound strange given last night's outcome, but I'd still only do this kind of blockbuster for Lawrence.

Lawrence really didn't look that good last night, though.

Definitely didn't look anywhere near as pro ready as Burrow.

Burrow is 23 Lawrence just turned 20 in October. He’s got a lot of growing to do but he’s got tools better than Burrow. Burrow is a great prospect. But equating the two right now isn’t fair.

I would say guys like Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Kyler Murray, Matt Stafford, etc hit all the checks in the boxes you want to see and are these sure fire things. Joe Burrow does not hit every single tick, and has some things you would have questions about in his transition into the NFL.

No fuggin way Cam Newton was an all the boxes guy.  Half of the evaluators hated him.
