Would you take #18, #26, and a 5th for #7?

The value charts show this is right around the correct value.

In addition, the Dolphins have a big need for an OT and getting to #7 after Herbert/Tua could net them the top OT of their choosing in the draft.

What could we get?

I call this scheme: The Tiger King:

18. K'lavon Chaisson DE LSU

26. Justin Jefferson WR LSU

38. Lloyd Cushenberry III C LSU

69. Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB LSU

Trade Up: Saahdiq Charles LT LSU (He handled Marlon Davidson while they triple teamed Derrick Brown)

113. Thaddeus Moss TE LSU

In the spirit of being a 2020 mock, let's add in this guy!

THEN! In a year, Burrow gets jealous.  All of his best buds are in Charlotte.

Getting along, doing some amazing stuff.

Joe, Lloyd, Justin, Thad, Saahdiq. They hit him up, tell him to request a trade.  We land Burrow in 2021.

We find ourselves beyond the pandemic.

We become legends.

Kunu returns.

But is destroyed by the Annunaki.

And Donnie doesn't shut the f*ck up.

And we get the rug back.

El fin.

This is a trade down scenario I like.

Maybe the Raiders get desperate to move up for a QB?  Add next years 3rd to puck #7 for picks 12 and 19

Raiders move to 7 for their QB

Panthers get Kinlaw at 12, and an OT at 19, maybe Jones or Jackson

12- Kinlaw

19- Jones or Jackson

38- Cushenberry

69- Dugger

113- Moss

5th round - Tanner Muse or Collin Johnson. Muse is a hybrid LB/S who has potential to be much better than his draft position. Johnson is a 6' 6" WR with a huge wing span, and strong hands. He isn't much of a YAC guy, or a speed guy which are the Knicks on him. He is a guy who can get you some first downs, but more importantly a redzone target, something this team needs. He and Moss fix that issue

Why does everyone want Cushenberry at 38? He’s not close to Jenkins or McCoy we’re last year. The interior OL are not the same as last year. Taking Cushenberry at 38 is bad value, really bad. We should have ignored Little and gone McCoy/Evans to solidify C/G/future RT if needed and gone T this year. There’s way too much love for interior guys this year who aren’t as good as the past two year’s of prospects.

Take them in the 3rd and 4th, but any C/G prospect at 38 to me is a bad reach especially considering the other D/WR talent that will be available. Take a DT at 38 if we don’t go brown or CB or WR. Any CB or WR we take at 38 is someone in other years that is a 1st rounder, maybe even a mid first rounder. Take a C/G there and you are getting a 3rd rounder the last two years.

Again, we aren’t competing this year regardless of what we hear. We need to draft the deeper positions and go BPA otherwise we will just keep spinning having less talent than the competing teams.

Two first round picks would be hard to pass on. However, CB and DT would need to be addressed super early...

I’m not a fan of trading down for Kinlaw. With 7 and 38, we should be able to get the top CB or DT and another really solid one at the other position.

Honestly better than walterfootball having us trade back like 3 times to #21 getting like 2 extra 3rd's and a couple 4th's. On top of that we skip Simmons, Brown and trade back handing the Bucs Andrew Thomas. After all that we get Kenneth Murray and no extra 2nd round picks but we'd apparently do it because we suck and need players more than quality.

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
