So even if the Saints end up cutting him, they keep him from attending our "training camp" (or whatever it will be this year), he doesn't get up to speed on our playbook, and his usefulness to us is limited.  We probably won't even sign him at that point, because his role was probably to help get our other QBs up to speed and to be an expert on the playbook.  But he can't do that because he has to be in their camp, etc, where there is no future. So by drafting him, they essentially screwed him.

The Saints not only screwed themselves out of $80k, they screwed us, and they screwed Tommy Stevens. In a year when we are pretty much the consensus to finish last in the division and not a threat to them at all in their SB dreams.

Forget us, I feel bad for Tommy. He had a role in the NFL planned, and the Saints killed it.

But regarding Stevens, I highly doubt he’ll be cut since we effectively poached him from y’all. I’d bet a fat stack that he’ll end up on IR by the time roster cuts occur because I highly doubt we end up carrying 4 QB’s.

Also for those saying y’all would pick him up off our practice squad, y’all know he’d have to go on y’all 53-man roster for an allotted amount of time, right? Can’t just take a practice squad player off one team and put him straight on your practice squad.
