The Social Distancing of 2010...

That's cherry picking, obviously the pic was taken during warm ups.  Now if anyone can dig up a picture of the season finale in 2001 versus the Pats on a cold, drizzly January day in a blow out, that was social distancing!  After halftime, that pic that Igo posted made the stadium look full compared to this game! I was there and it was UGLY!

Yes. Of the fans that were there, 80% were Pats fans.

Were you at that game?  The crowd was sparse from the beginning, but once the Pats started to pull away and the drizzle got heavier in the 4th quarter, that place cleared out--well what few people were left.

That dude must had just coughed.

This is a good friend, he was a drunken sloppy mess this game, falling down rows of seats etc. No malice but we were babysitting the whole time. This pic was towards the end of the game and encapsulated that game experience so perfect.

God, what a sad, sad time.  Absolutely no hope of winning, let alone completing an 8 yard forward pass that season.

I got bad news for you. Vegas has us at T5.5 wins which is tied for second worst in the league. Could be another abysmal season where the stadium is not even half way full in December. Barf.

Yeah, I was. Me and my buddies actually wore tank tops that read 1-15 across them in the freezing cold. The Observer took our picture and had us on the front page, then re ran the photo during the 2003 super bowl run. We had club seats that were given to us and of course on the first drive for the Patriots we were trying to stand up and make noise on third down and were asked by the attendants to sit down.

I remember thinking that if we get behind by more than 7 we were done. I don't remember any comebacks at all.

I was there, too, with my nephew.  Our normal seats were in the upper arena on the visitor's side, but since there was barely anyone there, we sat in the lower section behind the home bench.  We were in the "crowd" that left during the 4th when it started raining harder.  When we got up to leave, I yelled "See ya, George.  You're fired."

What a miserable day to wrap up a miserable season.

2010 was my last game. Against the bears, I dont think the panthers crossed the 50 the whole game(maybe 2 times). And by some chance they had a chance to win the game. The fans put on a show of cheers for about 2 minutes in the final minutes, panthers did nothing. The walk back I thought to myself "I'll never be back". RR is doing gods work and if I get back to the queen, love to try again.

    • Welp, he just joined Parsons in Green Bay.
    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
