I think you are a little off. I remember it was DeAngelo that ran the wildcat and it was the 06-07 season I believe. The team was awful at qb and started several qbs like David Carr, Vinny T and a few other awful qbs. Pretty sure that was the year you were referring to. Too lazy to look it up.

It was 2006 but Weinke started QB in that game. Delhomme was injured.

“You see, DeAngelo Williams, who played his college ball for the University of Memphis Tigers, turned out to be the inspiration for innovation. Let’s go back to December 24, 2006 where Williams and DeShaun Foster combined for 49 carries and 184 rushing yards in a game where running backs were lining up at quarterback. Meanwhile, Chris Weinke – a 34-year-old quarterback in what would be his final season with Carolina – completed 4 of 7 passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in a 10-3 win against the Atlanta Falcons. You can check out that box score here.”

uh-huh. you keep convincing yourself of that, just like the Taints didn't intentionally injure opposing players and get paid to do so. Gold and black colored glasses.

Uh huh, I chose to believe in facts and statistics, not the propaganda and fairy tales the League pumped down your throat for 7 months before the start of the 2012 season.

Remember the Mickey Loomis “wiretapping” ordeal that broke 3 month later then was never heard about again? I bet you believed that too. LOLOLOL.

Speaking of not following protocol.....your boys just lost a 6th round draft pick for not doing so.

Exactly and I didn’t hear anyone playing the world’s smallest violin for us. We got tagged, that’s on us. Just like it’s the Broncos fault they have zero QB’s today. To laud the NFL for punishing us while simultaneously crying that the Broncos aren’t being treated fairly is hypocritical at best.

Thanks for proving my point. :)

The Saints actively and widely broke a rule and were dumb enough to broadcast it on social media. The Broncos had to admit that they broke a rule and then followed NFL protocol. That's why the Broncos probably won't get any real ramifications(other than starting a Taysom Hill-esque QB) while the Saints lost a draft pick. Same reason Oakland got slapped around, because they kept breaking the rule and in open view of the public.

That's the difference between an organization like the Pats, who has a rich tradition of cheating/rule breaking but largely getting minor penalties, and the Saints, who have a rich tradition of cheating/rule breaking but never get away with it. The Pats are smart enough to not be so open about it, the Saints have always been so incredibly open about their cheating/rule breaking.

Will Brinson was talking to Jim Szoke on the Panthers pregame and said that the league's attitude towards both the Broncos and the Ravens is that they've kind of put themselves into this position by violating protocols. That's a big reason why they're not bending over backwards to accommodate them.

The Ravens can't do this because they are in a playoff race but it would kind of be funny to see the Broncos say, "Oh yeah, well we forfeit the game. Good luck paying the advertising/TV revenue back."

You mean like moving a game from Thursday to Sunday to Tuesday?

Brinson's words, not mine, but apparently there's more to the story.

The problem with that is that per the league's agreement with the NFLPA this season, any games forfeited mean that the players for both teams lose their game checks.

That'd be a pretty tough sell to your players.
