Joe Person: Taylor Moton not likely to return next year, Curtis Samuel might also leave

Moton must be a really really weird dude or something.

Not so sure about that. Honestly, not wanting to stay with us has been kind of a trend (Lotulelei, Bradberry, now Moton).

The basic word though is that he wants left tackle money and we're not going to pay it.

Every "decision" Hurney makes is awful. GET RID OF THE DUMBA** Im tired of this. We always have crap Oline's and he lets Norwell, Turner and Moton walk, signs Paradis and drafts Greg Little. The man is a freaking joke.

It's not Hurney's decision...he's not vested with the power to make such a call.

If Moton doesn't return it will be because Tepper, Rhule & Hurney collectively decided it's the proper course of action (with input from a number of others as well).

That's how it works in Tepper's world...

Copying and pasting this post I made in another thread:

I'm honestly to the point where I truly wonder if there is some sort of organized effort us as a fanbase could put together to let Tepper know that we won't put up with Hurney's bullshit fuging ineptitude anymore.

This entire fiasco is absolutely inexcusable. It's not like Moton was just a guy for his first few seasons and broke out this year. He's proven since DAY ONE that he belonged in this league and he's rapidly improved every year. It's absolutely insane how many of us casuals were calling all offseason to extend him because it's been evident for a year or two now that he can be a franchise building block. I've never played nor coached a down of football in my life, I'm just a casual guy that could have easily gotten this poo right. And it would be one thing if Moton played a position of minimal value, but he plays arguably the second most important position in all of football! Hurney walked into this gig for the SECOND time and had a franchise OT on the table for him - and he failed to extend him and now we will pay the price.

We were screaming to extend him last offseason, so many of us. This was not hard to get right, and our incompetent GM got it wrong - again. We are now set to enter next season with the worst OL in the NFL. Who cares if we get lucky enough to draft a guy like Wilson/Fields/Lance/Jones if we won't be able to keep him upright? There's no fuging point.

Curtis Samuel is a whole other story. But I've been high on him ever since he was a rookie and I truly think he's our best receiver. We also KNOW teams wanted him on this most recent draft night. But instead of at least cashing in on a third round pick for him we'll also lose him for nothing.

Really, what's the point in continuing to support this team with such a ceiling capper like Hurney at GM?

The question is if you guys think Moton is worth Top 5 Right Tackle money. I'm sure he is going to command a large salary next year. Overpay for him or let him walk and suffer a weak O-line? Which is lesser of two evils?

The thing is that he probably IS a top 5 RT and he's the only legit answer we have on the entire OL.

    • Well there goes the bullied victim spiel.
    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
