A good look at Zach Wilson's toughness

Who’s this Zach Lance guy?

He is out of the BYU genetics lab, a hybrid of Zach Wilson and Trey Lance.

The question is whether this version hybrid got the strengths of both, or whether he got the short end of the stick and his lab-created brother Trey Wilson got the best of both.  One will be an NFL QB, the other an insurance actuary once they release them into society.

Any bets on which one Hurney is interested in?  The bright side is the Panthers probably need a good insurance actuary.

Yeah, 94 should've been tossed.

Exactly--white hat, you are a football referee and there is a rule book.  94 broke the rules---he was not blocking--he was roughing.  That should have been a flag, and the shot to the head should have been an ejection.  I know there is a lot of buzz about Coastal right now, but that is classless punk crap that has no place in football.  Some think this is cool and the way the game should be played.  Nope.  When a no-name player with nothing to lose starts pile driving a top 10 NFL draft pick--that is targeting a player due to his status.  94 was trying to get noticed by attacking a player who worked hard to establish himself--and he tried to provoke an altercation to get him out of the game.  I think the white hat ref should be questioned by the NCAA--I would ask him, "What more did 94 need to do to get you to throw a flag?"

And his coach--telling players to hit a certain player (to put him out of the game) should be investigated by CCU to see if he was directing players to target a star from another team.  The referees were terrible and let CCU run around like a bunch of classless thugs--they knew a Mormon school would not reduce to such antics--

QB should have just stayed on the ground.

Not saying it's right or wrong, but when you spend a few days hearing how you aren't worthy, and this guy is gonna take your lunch money, he's going to be better than you, you don't belong, Top Ten OMGWTF BBQ QB gonna show you what's up,  etc, you can bet your ass I'm gonna light him up. Might not be his fault, but he is gonna be a victim.

And, oh yeah, they lost. Guess it's time to anoint somebody else.

    • Linebacker The Panthers have selected decent pass-rushing linebackers in recent drafts, but a three-down player at the position is needed. More than a run stuffer, a linebacker who can cover is an offseason goal. Edge Rusher Nic Scourton played incredibly well as a rookie, but another consistent pass rusher to pair him with is needed, as D.J. Wonnum looks set for free agency. Offensive Line Starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu tore his patella tendon during the first quarter of the playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He will be out for a while and may miss all of 2026. Interior blockers Cade Mayes and Austin Corbett are set for free agency. MOCK DRAFT ROUND 1: Cashius Howell/Edge/Texas A&M If CJ Allen falls to this spot, I believe the Panthers would scoop him up, but the Georgia linebacker is getting a lot of love in the scouting community. In Howell, they are getting a system fit that could be a terrific pairing with Scourton. He’s also a pass-rushing linebacker who is effective in space.   ROUND 2: Jake Golday/LB/Cincinnati Golday is the three-down linebacker the Panthers’ defense needs, as he’s tough, instinctive, and well-rounded. Dan Morgan will love him  ROUND 3: Michael Trigg/TE/Baylor Carolina has solid tight ends but no true playmakers. They seem to have an aversion to throwing the ball to Ja’Tavion Sanders, and he hasn’t developed as expected. Trigg can get downfield and be a large receiver at the tight end position ROUND 4: Brian Parker II /C/Duke The Panthers could use a guard or center, and Parker, who played right tackle for Duke, projects to either.
