so what did the last ~20 years of panthers football feel like to you

asking because for me it felt like being on a trireme led by a captain that embarks on a voyage that should take only 3 years to reach its destination, and ends up dicking around so much that by the time you dock at ithaca, the steamships are already dominating the mediterranean sea.

we sat through a 20 year period of the same dude running the offseason the same way for about 15 of those years, coaches that overstay their welcome, players that stick like glue, some of them so bad that being a starter for ten games feels like ages. and it makes me think about the passage of time compared with everything else going on. sometimes i have to remind myself that some 2012 panthers bullshit was 9ish years ago and not 3. things i had going on back then were so much different.

i know we’re just finally going beyond jerry richardson’s reign of terror and all of the baggage is finally gone but ffs...

Curious how you changed your behavior and support (or lack thereof) over those 20 years?

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
