What's with this anti-Scott campaign that's going on right now?

I for one really appreciate loading up the blog and seeing a coherent thread about the major news of the day. Saves me a whole bunch of time.

Dude deserves a medal if anything.

I agree, but he seems to have the locker room-we see it--do they?

My guess is the Eagles pick a QB if one of top 4 QBS are available. If they are really committed to Hurts, then they probably try to trade the pick to someone who wants a QB. A third alternative is that they use the added picks as part of a bounty to trade up for a QB. None of these options are favorable to the Panthers.

I think we are witnessing a  “Find Your QB” version of musical chairs. At this point, it is looking more and more like the Panthers may be left without a chair. I think the Panthers also see this, which means I would expect a hard and relatively expensive push up in the draft. For the proponents of “ wait until next year”, I tend to think the Panthers will be drafting lower next year. A franchise QB is not likely to be available to them without an even more expensive move up the draft board.

This is the year to make the move!

There has always been a strong anti Scott movement going on in the depths of the huddle.

The musical chairs thing holds a lot of water, but I think that if we're patient, something very good could fall to us. Maybe a QB in the draft, maybe a QB in FA, maybe an LT in the draft... In chaos, there's opportunity for the person who keeps their wits about themselves and their feet on solid ground.

I suggest you get over whatever is up with you and Mr Scot.  I appreciate him and a few other very knowledgeable football people who contribute here.  [That's why I have stayed through all the crap].  He has time to search for info which is nice, especially during this offseason.  I am getting tired of the endless Watson debates.

Don't know what your issue is...you sound jealous.  Instead of attacking another poster please consider making a positive contribution to the information/discussion here.  We will all appreciate that.

    • I'm not sure how much I'm changing mid year, especially when we are seeing some success.    Most Pass Rushers are physically gifted. Scheme and personnel help, but you gotta have the Jimmys and Joes, especially at that position.    We will likely lose games when the other team can throw for 400 yards, and has multiple high level receivers, but I think at this point in the development of our franchise, we have to be ok with that. You can't address every single issue at once. Really looks like we have plugged some holes on offense, and definitely in run defense. In the next draft, if we hit on a CB, an ILB and a Pass rusher, we will be pretty dangerous.
    • No, stay the course, add via FA / Draft.
    • His route running was not very good in this game, especially when compared to the previous week. There were at least three playactions ran where I couldn't tell if he was going to be pass blocking or running a route with how little effort he ran with. They also dinged him for the fumble on the play where XL lateraled to him. 29.8 fumble grade, 6.1 pass block grade, and 40.0 receiving grade really hurt his overall score. Personally, I'd have put him in the mid-to-high 70s on the day. I don't think his receiving grade should've been 40.0 but can see an argument for in the 50s. Maybe his pass blocking grade could've also been in the teens since he did win on the final rep handily.   Just re-watched the receiving TD for Rico and it was a hideous route. DaRon Bland left his zone to cover over top of TMac though which left the area wide open for Rico to get to. Very surprised that they gave Bland a 66.5 coverage grade as I recall him getting picked on a couple of times (and giving up the 4th down throw to Renfrow by giving an incredibly soft cushion).
