Yep. It sounds like he's gone nuclear quietly behind the scenes but is trying to stay quiet and let others do his communication to the public. He might have to go nuclear publicly.

Guys, we are clearly missing the point of "paying" any price. Tepper has a grand strategy of offering a trade package and writing Cal McNair a huge check behind the scenes.

JR didn't have a choice. The league was forcing him to sell and Tepper was their chosen one.

I’ve been thinking that as well. Would it change their mind if he had a sit down with them and straight up told them no matter what they do he will never play for them?
