You guys like Steve Smith?

Was doing some more WR watching today and found a neato little highlight tape of Rondale Moore. Very similar to Steve in his physicality, speed, and size.

  As much as I want him, it is hard to put him in front of a cb or a Lt.

A lot to like about the player, but he also has injury issues for days.

The problem is he’s missing that Steve Smith toughness. The kids off the field a lot. It’s hard to imagine him getting less dinged up in the pros at his size against superior sized athletes compared to college.

He seems way more Damiere Byrd than Steve Smith to me.

Closest comparison from recent years was probably Doug Baldwin of Seattle.

There’s a “Steve Smith” every few years or so, whether it’s Brandin Cooks, DJ Moore, this guy, etc. Truth is, Steve Smith was one of a kind.

You can compare athletic ability and you may find a Steve Smith every couple of years. However, I have yet to find another WR for any team with that heart, drive, and sheer determination. There may only be a Steve Smith every generation or so, but in my opinion no one in NFL currently has his passion, drive, desire, attitude, and trash talking game. Fred Smoot is somewhere still crying about his boat, and Talib is still icing up.

Or Jerry Rice. HOF drive is the holy grail. Honestly its much harder to focus now, too many distractions and too much pointless agenda BS. I dont kn ow if Rice or Smitty would fare in this type of environment.
