I mean we don't play a lot of press man coverage.... and it gets harder and harder to play a lot of man coverage in the NFL.   That is a legit discussion.

even if you got the DBs to play man....the athletic QBs situationally make it a poor call pretty often.

I dont even know why this is a surprise. All the mock drafts. All the "sources" And at the end of the day and is the case every single year....everyone is just talking out their ass and guessing.

Amazes me in 2021 and most by now have had the internet long enough to know how to read and verify and research...random takes from talking heads STILL get so much credit and replay.

If you changed the pick grade to A+ and kept the commentary the same.....

I mean that commentary was the Jacyee Horn universal scouting report.

lol @ draft grades, no matter what it's idiotic

It's based on their own mock draft and how the real draft played out compared to their fake one.

This guy thinks the Panthers play off the line of scrimmage and give receivers a ton of cushion because they want to. Hint: that was the only choice they had given the lack of talent. They drafted Horn so they would not have to.

Lol

In fairness, that's traditionally the way we have played. I agree, I don't think this staff wants to but it's all we've seen.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
