Scott Fitterer: We want Sam Darnold to just flush what's happened

Well definitely but no one can really do that. The good news is Bradys system gives him plenty of confidence building options. Rehabing Darnald is all about film study and confidence. Can't be seeing ghosts out there.

How I wish he had come into the NFL to exactly this situation.  I really feel this front office and the coaches get it, not only for Sam, but for all the players on your roster.

Even the city, culture itself is a blessing.  Not all of us grow up in an L.A. loving culture, particularly our laid back beach towns.  It’s up to your QB now, you’ve set him up for successful new start.

I'm for giving Sam a chance to show what he's capable of doing when surrounded with other talented players.

Most of us realize Teddy wasn't comfortable taking chances and that resulted in a record of 0-8 when we had an opportunity to win in the closing minutes.

Sam can make all the throws and hasn't been shy about taking chances and/or improvising on the fly.  For sure, Darnold needs to be more consistent, but if our coaching staff can help him make better reads/decisions we could finally have our franchise QB.

Just now, CanadianCat said:

Its called optimism.

IF Sam works out, this is a HUGE win for us.

There is nothing wrong with that but fans being optimistic is different from the front office. If they keep building him up like this and he has struggles adjusting the media and fans will be even harsher on him. They want him to approach this like he's a rookie again but that's not the way life works. See Teddy Bridgewater who had his own share of optimism around him this time last year.

    • I'd rather get a vet to fill XL's spot for a chain mover and give Jimmy Horn more reps since he's basically our Ted Ginn speed guy. T-Mac and Coker are locked in as the top 2. They honestly fuged up giving XL the start over Moore in the playoff game
    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
