5 year 96 million dollar contract at the RT position, what does this mean for Moton?

Panthers are past the point of blinking on working something out with Moton in a timely manner. They are now in a corner. He can all but name his own price.

the left tackle's contract is up after this year.  They'll move Ramczyk to left tackle next year (and probably a lot this year as much as Armstead is injured.  19 mill per year for a LT is worth it.

It means what I have said all along. Great tackles get paid well whether they are a left or right tackle. Moton will get paid here or he will play under the tag this year and be gone next. But he will make top money and will be worth every cent.

The never ending cap well in New Orleans. According to legend, the only site more rare is the fountain of youth. But somewhere down in Louisiana there is a swamp with a salary cap well that they say can bring bucket loads of cap space with the blink of an eye.

The extension is for the next 5 years and they restructured the 2021 salary hit to lower the amount. The saints always kick things down the road which seems to work for them.

A top paid player is a top paid player. 

There is no magical formula that saves the owner any money. Whether he was earlier in the offseason or the week of training camp, the price is the same. 

Anybody who thought he wouldn't get paid, was lying to themselves.

Moton isn't going to get Ramcyzk money. However, we should have got that extension done right after the draft. Boggles my mind how the Saints can just pay anybody and Hurney/Gettleman let guts like Norman/Norwell walk for being 'too expensive'.
