They should've gone with Pigskins to honor their old nicknames and make it football related without crossing the line. Throwing red in front of anything seems like the wrong move if that's what this whole thing was about. My family are all Washington fans and they still call them the Redskins / Skins anyways.

 

Might as well just stick with WFT at this rate...

If that’s their only options, then I’d agree. They could’ve changed the name to Washington Warriors, modified their logo and kept the same color scheme and that would’ve been better than this IMO.

This whole situation has just been badly botched. Step one of deciding to change the name should've been deciding on a new fuging name. This WFT "place holder" thing was just dumb from the start. Might as well stick with it at this point. It's dumb and unoriginal, but hey... if the shoe fits, wear it.

Why release this poll with 8 candidates if they've already narrowed it down to 3 finalists?  Seems like a dumb PR move if one of the non-finalists ends up polling well and exciting the fanbase and they just end up going with something else.  This probably should've been the prerequisite to choosing the finalists.

      Looked for a Tepper thread to ask this. Did people know that when Ben Navarro was still in play to buy the team, he asked John Lynch to run things for him?  Listening to a Lynch interview he makes the claim (really bored, but hey, I never hear that one).
