Reassuring piece.  Seems like Fit is well balanced when it comes to football savviness and the financials which is great.

Only real headscratcher by him was Elflein IMO but it's not an obscene contract or anything.  Hopeful for the continued building of the team around CMC, Burns, Brown, Moore, Horn & Co.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do with Brown and Burns.

Burns could easily fetch 100+ mill. Brown could end up commanding a lot as well.

Thats a ton of D line money.

Horn and Chinn will be interesting too but that decision is 5 years out.

Both Fitterer and Rhule seem to want to concentrate more on keeping our own than going out and spending big in free agency.

Ehhhhhhh kind of tired of this song and dance yet again. Granted Hurney just said it and did the exact opposite in letting players walk. But he didn’t exactly sign FAs either since he overpaid the wrong players. Being skilled in FA is just as important as the draft.

I’d rather hear something like we’ll sign the best player no matter where they come from.

It depends on how they draft.  Draft well enough and they may not have to pay "everyone".   They have to choose wisely in that regard.   We need enough depth to allow for the possibility of having to let someone walk occasionally.   Something the past GM's didn't quite grasp.

I think you could basically see that this seemed to be their plan(keeping our drafted guys and not spending wildly in free agency) with the moves we made in the offseason. I somewhat agree with that strategy, although if you need to make a move to get a critical position in a "win now" mode, I think you spend the money if it puts you over the top.

I am glad to hear that he is always open to talk about new deals. That alone makes us a more attractive spot for both our drafted guys and potential free agents.

    • I’m an optimist thru and thru. I love any win this team can muster, and Bryce did what he could to keep the team in it, but he’s why the team was out of it to begin with.  I like the guy, but he is not… he’s just not it… and I was swayed by the way he finished last season, but his physical limitations will never be overcome. A one arm tackle stopped him in his tracks en route for 6, among several other plays where an even average starter in the league succeeds.  A franchise QB is supposed to be his own cheat code. Bryce needs a cheat code dude, that is not him, to win. Chuba CARRIED (literally) his ass last season. Thielen bailed him out EVERY game he played in last season. Today: Rico turned in one of the best games in franchise history, Tet was unguardable and put up at least 100 yards on his own (PI yards included),  and the defense basically pitched a shutout after going down big so they could beat one of the worst teams in the NFL.
    • Jimmy came thru today I hope he is active next week   (2) NFL on X: "Bryce Young to Jimmy Horn Jr. on 4th down! MIAvsCAR on FOX/FOX One https://t.co/HkKw7uXVnt https://t.co/FYOfsxtAMk" / X
    • Rico 10000% saved Bryce Young from being benched for the Dallas game.  The way that game was going there was going to be no way to trot Bryce out next week at home if it kept going like it did.  Bryce probably is safe from bench risk until the next home and home presents itself.    He can’t be playing bad going into that next Atl game and then lay an egg in it.
