This dude is going off right now claiming that players have anonymously contacted him claiming that Rhule is "running things like a dictator" and basically insinuating that the players hate him.

As opposed to the more democratically run teams? Which teams are those exactly?

Underrated comment. The upside is that we see how quickly we are able to switch gears(look at the Teddy trade). The downside is that we keep making these terrible signings.

I hope that our 2022 free agent offseason is a big upgrade because 2021 has been pretty bad so far.

Reddick jones Arnold Fox could all be major impact players for us

and the LB from cinch or bouye

and we don’t know what we have in the two OL yet

Dude, really? Just for the record, I'm "vaxxed"... but do we REALLY need to turn this into political diatribe? His reason for getting traded had not one thing to do with that. Respect peoples "free" choice and free will in life, what else do we have? It's no one's fault this crap was thrust upon the world; it's tough for everyone! Haven't we had enough of being political pawns? I'd love to just enjoy a NORMAL NFL season!!

We'll see how many of y'all are crying about muh freedoms and respecting choices if/when NFL teams have to start forfeiting games due to COVID outbreaks.

You're kidding yourself if you think him being unvaccinated wasn't a factor.

As I understand it he's the only guy on the roster - and he makes us liable if we have a COVID outbreak.

Being a Canes fan I'm very disappointed with Perryman, but the writing was on the wall.

Yeah, hence the "so far." I think it will really depend on the OL and Darnold. If those guys flop, it will likely tank anything that the others can do.

Like I said, though, we seem to be quick to learn and adjust so I am a lot more okay with these flops than a Hurney or Gettleman flop signing. We were saddled with those for years and sometimes for vast sums of money(Kalil).

With these guys, it is almost a point for improvement rather than a franchise altering mistake.

Yep. We're razor thin at LB. Even with his injury struggles, I doubt we would've been willing to trade him for practically nothing if it wasn't for the added complication of him being unvaccinated.

True, but year 2 of a rebuild not the time for big FA spending.

Reddick (OLB, $6mil, 1 year)

Erving (OG, $10mil total over 2 years)

Moore (WR, $4.8 mil over 2 years)

Elflein (T/G, $13mil over 3 years)

Fox (DT, $8mil over 2 years)

Jones (DT, $4mil 1 yr)

Bouye (CB, $7mil over 2 Years)

Arnold (TE, $7mil over 2 years)

Perryman (MLB, $6mil over 2 years)

Starters out of that group? Reddick, Bouye, maybe one of the DTs? Perhaps Arnold and maybe one of those OLs? Not a bad hit rate. Pretty low risk signings here.

Draft strong, re-sign solid players. Fill in the gaps with inexpensive short term deals.

I'm not calling out Fitterer per se, was just making the comment. I do think thoguh it's a bit worse though given the attention that the OL and LB corps needed heavy attention and that all of the FA additions in those areas haven't look good, with Perryman already gone entirely. Fortunately, the 2 drafted OL are showing some promise..

You haven't seen Erving or Elflein play yet. Get back to me after 4 games.

Again, I'm not making definitive statements. The difference with FA though and particularly the guys signed is that there is already extensive film on them. Expectations can be reasonably set and thus far they're right on par with those performance-based expectations, which were fairly low.

This says, to me, that we are trading for Jalyn Smith from the Cowboys. They took Micah Parsons, who I wish we would've taken rather than Horn. To have a franchise capable QB and QB of the defense again.

Tough to say right now--if Horn becomes a shut down who can take the beast WRs in this conference and keep the #1s in check, he is worth more than Parsons, who had some leadership issues at PSU if I interpreted the article correctly.

But yeah, we need a beast MLB and the draft in 2022 is not loaded at MLB.

Hell if we were the ones trading the 6th for a 7th, I'd have understood it. We're saving $1 million relative to cutting him while getting rid of a guy who hasn't seen the field because he apparently gets injured as soon as someone breathes on him. And between the arrest and unvaccinated status, he's only brought negative attention. Turning a 7th into a 6th might not be much but given the circumstances, it's a damn coup.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
